St. John's Congregational Marriages

What follows is a list of Pike marriages from the St. John's Congregational church records held at PANL. This list constitutes a typescript of my handwritten extraction from a microfilm of the original records, which is to say that I may have inadvertantly introduced some errors while transcribing and typing... as always, you should double-check against the original records. That said, if you spot any mistakes that I have made, please let me know at dapike@mun.ca. Additional Pike entries from other Newfoundland church records can also be found on my website.

Some comments about this list:

At PANL these marriage records are on microfilm as follows: Reel 41 also has baptisms (1779-1815), but I found no Pike entries among them. There was, however, documentation (numbered 120) that Mrs Mary Pike was admitted as a member of the church on 31 January 1840.

Reel 41 also included 4 pages of text (which were typeset and dated 8 July 1833) detailing provisions of an Act to regulate the celebration of marriages in Nfld.
