In the Name of God Amen I James Wise of the Towne and County of Poole shipwright being Sick & weak of body but of sounds & perfect Mind memory & Understanding Do Make this my last will & Testament in Manner & forme following First and Cheifly I Recomend My Soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing thr'o the Meritts Death and passion of My Saviour Jesus Christ to Inheritt Eternall Salvation and My body I Comitt to ye Earth to be decently Interred at ye Discretion of My Exr herein after named and My worldly Estate wherewth It has pleased Almighty God to bless me wthall I dispose thereof as followeth Imprs I give Devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne the wife of John Cartridge all That my Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House adjoyning to the House in wch I now live and now in the possession of Zepheniah Thomson together wth the Moyety or one halfe part of ye Turfe House & Skelling thereunto belonging lying on ye other side of ye Street To hold to her her Heires Exrs admrs and assignes forever. Item I give Devise and bequeath unto My said Daughter Anne the Moyety or one halfe parte of all My Household Stuff Linnen Plate bedding and furniture whatsoever together also wth ye one Halfe parte of all yt My Hoy or Vessell boats called ye Anne ?? ??appurtenances whereof George Edmonds is now Mar To hold to her her Exrs admrs & assignes for ever Item I give devise & bequeath unto My sones John & Thomas each one shilling And whereas Thomas Osborne by Indenture of Mortgage dated ye 7th day of Aprill 1683 In consideration of Twenty pounds Mortgaged ye Tenement or Dwelling in wch I now Live to Wm Corben of ye sd Towne & County for ye Terme of Ninety & Nine Yeares subject to a provisoe for ye payment of ye sd TWenty pounds with Interest at six PER Cent wch sd sume was not paid by ye sd Thomas Osborne (who was my late wifes father) in his life time and whereas my sone Wm Wise since his ye sd Thomas Osborne death hath Advanced and Lent me as much Money as ????tisfyed ye principall & Interest due on the said Mortage wch I being willing should be repaid to him my sone Wm Doe hereby give Devise and bequeath unto him My said sone William his Exrs admrs & Assignes all my Estate Right Title and Interest of in and to the sd Messuage Tenemt or Dwelling in wch I now live together with the assignement thereof to me made by Avice Corben of ye sd Towne & County spinster and all benefitt and advantage thereof And my will is that in Case My sone John do & shall permitt and suffer my sone Wm peaceably and Quietly to hold and Enjoy ye sd Messuage or Tenement for & during the Remainder of ye Terme in ye sd Mortgage Mentioned that then my sd sone William doe & shall pay unto My two Grandchildren Wm and Elizabeth sone & daughter of my sone James Wise Ten pounds a peice Item I give Devise and bequeath unto my said sone William All That plott or parcell of garden ground lately bought by me of Jonathan Pelly & Thomas Pelly now Enclosed and Encompassed in wth ye Upper gardem I also give to him my sd sone Wm the Moyety or other halfe parte of Turfe House & Skelling herein before Mentioned to belong to ye Tenemet in ye possession of Zepheniah Thomson To hold to him his Heires Exrs Admrs & assignes forever All The Rest residue and Remainder of My goods Chattles Reall & personall House hold stuff Linnen plate and furniture Debts sume & sumes of Money Lands Tenements & Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever together with My worke House at Ham Implements Instruments Timber & appurtenances thereunto belonging (after my debts Legacys & funerall Expences Satisfyed and paid I Give devise and bequeath unto My sd sone William his Heires Exrs admrs & assignes for ever whome I Make full and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this Nineteenth day of July in the Yeare of our Lord 1719 JA Wise Signed sealed published and delared by the said Testator to be his last will and Testament in ye prsence of Mary Henning the Marke of Susanna Henning Tho: Stokes prbat fuit &c 23 die Maii 1721
