This is the last Will and Testament
of me Edward White of Saint Johns Master Mariner I hereby
revoke all former Wills and testaments dispositions by me at any time
made and hereby appoint my three Sons William, Edward and
Richard to be Executors of this my last will and testament I hereby
give devise and bequeath to my said Executors all my estate, goods,
chattels, monies, and effects of every description of which I shall
die possessed upon the trusts and conditions and for the purposes
of the bequests hereinafter set forth that is to say

First I desire that my wife in the event of her surviving me
shall be allowed to occupy the Dwelling House with the
appurtenances now occupied by me and to have the use of the
household goods and furniture contained therein for and
during her natural life free of rent or charge

Second I desire and direct that my Executors shall invest the
sum of Eight hundred pounds currency in the Savings
Bank or in other good security and from the said sum and
the interest thereof pay my said wife the sum of one hundred
pounds currency per annum during her natural life and 
should there be any portion of the said sum of Eight
hundred pounds unexpended at the death of my said
wife I desire that it shall form part of the residue of my
estate and be disposed of as hereinafter set forth In the event
of the said sum of Eight hundred pounds and interest
thereon not being sufficient to satisfy the foregoing bequest
I desire that my five children or their representatives shall
pay to my said wife the sum of One hundred pounds 
per annum in equal proportions of twenty pounds
each per annum

Third Upon the death of my said wife I give devise and
bequeath to such of the children of my daughter 
Mary Dove and Annie Turner as shall then be living the
Dwelling House now occupied by me with the land apper-
tenant to the same and the stable and outhouses erected
on said land also the household goods furniture and
effects save and except the Piano hereinafter bequeathed
						     to



to Bertha Dove contained in said dwelling house also a piece
of land commencing at the East end of the Dwelling House
now occupied by me and running thence westerly One
hundred and Sixty Eight feet ten inches or thereabouts  To
Hold to the said children as follows that is to say one half to
such of the children of my said daugther Mary Dove as shall
then be living in equal shares and the other half to such of the
children of my said daughter Annie Turner as shall then be
living in equal shares  This bequest shall be subject to the
right of my said daughter to reside in the said house
as declared and set forth in the next paragraph.

Fourth It is my wish and desire that my daughter
Annie Turner shall continue to reside in and
occupy the said dwelling house now occupied by me and
that my said daughter Mary Dove shall have the right
to reside in and occupy one half of the said house con-
jointly with the said Annie Turner upon and after the
death of my said wife.  Should my said daughter Mary
Dove not require or desire to occupy her one half of the said
house as aforesaid I will and direct that my said daug-
hter Annie Turner shall have the right to occupy the
whole of said house and premises by paying to my
said daughter Mary Dove an annual rent of two pounds
currency.

Fifth I give and bequeath to such of the children of		[this paragraph is crossed out]
my said daughter Mary Dove and Annie 
Turner as shall be living at the time of my death the
sum of four hundred pounds currency to be divided
in the following manner that is to say the sum of
Two hundred pounds in equal shares among the 
children of said Mary Dove and the sum of Two
hundred pounds in equal shares among the
children of Annie Turner

Sixth I give and bequeath to such of the children of
my son William as shall be living at the time
of my death the piece of land with the dwelling house
thereon now occupied by my said son together with
						one



one half of the Garden in front of said house and one half of the
stone store up and down stories in rear thereof also a piece of land
at the South side situate to the Eastward of the House now
occupied by him commencing at the Eastern corner of the stone
wall enclosing the front Garden and running thence in an
Easterly direction (including a road way of twenty feet reserved
in the grand of said land) forty six feet and running from
front to rear about twelve chains To hold to the said children
in equal shares for ever

Seventh I give devise and bequeath to my son William
a portion of my land at the South Side commencing
at the Western boundary of land hereinbefore bequeathed to
the children of Annie Turner and Mary Dove and running
thence Westerly Eighty four feet five inches or thereabouts To hold
the same to my said son for ever

Eighth I give devise and bequeath to such of the children
of my son Edward as shall be living at the time 
of my death the piece of land situate at the South side with
the Dwelling House thereon now occupied by my said son
also a portion of the land at South Side commencing at
the western boundary line of land hereinbefore bequeathed
to my son William and running thence Westerly Eighty four
feet five inches To hold the same to the said children in equal
shares for ever.

Ninth I give devise and bequeath to such of the children
of my son Richard as shall be living at the time
of my death the piece of land situate at the South Side with
the Dwelling House thereon now occupied by him also a
portion of the land at South Side commencing at the Western
boundary of land hereinbefore bequeathed to my son Edward
and running thence in a Westerly direction Eighty four
feet five inches To hold the same to the said children
in equal shares for ever

Tenth I give and bequeath the Piano-forte now in the
house occupied by me to my Grandaughter
Bertha Dove

Eleventh I give and bequeath to my son Richard
my Watch

Twelfth I desire that the land at South Side situate between
the Glebe land on the East and the house now
occupied by my son William on the West shall be devided
into five portions of which I give devise and bequeath to such
of the children of my son Richard as shall be living at the
time of my death the eastern portion of the said land commen
-cing at the said Glebe land and running westerly and
measuring in front twenty six feet seven inches and extend-
ing to the rear boundary of said land To Hold to the said
Children in equal shares for ever

Thirteenth I give devise and bequeath to such of the 
children of my son Edward as shall be
living at the time of my death the next lot or portion of said
land to the westward measuring in front twenty six feet
seven inches To Hold to the said children in equal shares
for ever

Fourteenth I give devise and bequeath to such of the
children of my daughter Mary Dove as
shall be living at the time of my death the next lot or portion
of said land to the westward measuring twenty six
feet seven inches in front To Hold to the said children
in equal shares for ever

Fifteenth I give devise and bequeath to such of the
children of my daughter Annie Turner as
shall be living at the time of my death the next lot or
portion of said land measuring twenty six feet seven
inches in front To Hold to the said children in equal
shares for ever. The remaining portion of said land
measuring forty six feet in front I have hereinbefore
bequeathed to my son William.

Sixteenth I give devise and bequeath all the rest
residue and remainder of my estate
goods monies chattles and effects of which I shall 
						die



die possessed and which are not hereinbefore specifically be-
queathed and disposed to my five children hereinbefore named
To hold the same to my said five children share and share
alike for ever And it is my wish and desire that should any of
my said children predecease me the share of such child shall
pass to and become the property of his or her representatives

The Petition of William White of Saint Johns
Landing Waiter in Her Majestys Customs Edward
White of the same place Master Mariner and
Richard White of the same place Master
Mariner 
		Humbly Sheweth
    That Edward White Senior late of
Saint Johns Master Mariner died there on
the first day of June instant having
previously made and executed his last
Will and testament which is hereto annexed
of which he appointed your petitioners Executors
    That said deceased at the time of his
death was possessed of proberty of the 
probable value of forty Eight thousand
dollars
    That no probate of any will nor
administration of the estate of said deceased
has been granted to any person
    Petitioners therefore pray that
Probate of the will of said deceased may 
be granted to them
    And as in duty bound they will
ever pray &c
