This is the last Will
and Testament of me John Warne of Ringwood in the
County of Southampton Yeoman Whereby I recommend
my soul to God that gave it me And dispose of 
my Worldly Goods and Estates in manner and forme
following that is to say First I give and devise to
my Sister Mary Butler eight pounds a year for her 
natural Life and to be paid quarterly that is two
pound each Quarter so long as she live by my


Executor herein after named Item I give to John
Butler son of my Sister Mary Butler six pounds a
year for the Life of John Clasby which is paid by 
Mr Richard Fizard Mansfield and if said John Butler
should die before said Clasby for the Maintenance 
of said John Butlers Family and likewise I give to 
said John Butler Fifty pounds of lawful Money to 
be paid by my Executor Item I give to  Mary
Gunner Daughter of my Sister Mary Butler Fifty pounds
of lawful Money Item I give to Rebeckah Ivemy
Daughter of my late Sister Flower Pitt Fifty pounds 
of lawful Money Item I give to Ann Ivemy Five 
pounds and to William Ivemy five pound Children of
said Rebeckah Ivemy Item I give to Mary Gunner 
five pounds And to Ann Gunner five pound Children of 
aforesaid Mary Gunner Item I give to Ann Butler 
five pound and to Henry Butler five pound 
Children of foresaid John Butler all which Money 
are to be paid by my Executor hereinafter mentioned
Item I give unto Charles Butler and  Rebekah
Ivemy jointly and to the longer liver of them my
dwelling Houses in up Street in the parish of Ringwood 
for their natural Lives and to each of their Issue
lawfully to be begotten and in default of Issue of 
either of them or both of the aforesaid to Mary 
Gunner and her Issue 
  forever Item I give to Charles
  Butler the Meadow land
  in Blashford Mead called
  Butlers for his natural life
  and to his Issue
  lawfully begotten and in default 
of Issue to John Butler for his natural Life and in
default of Issue lawfully begotten to Mary Gunner 
and her Heirs for ever Item I give to Charles Butler 
the aforesaid Son of Mary Butler my Sister my
Lands in Blashford in the parish of Elingham called
or known by the Name of Morrises for his natural 
Life and to his Issue lawfully begotten and in default of
Issue to Rebeckah Ivemy daughter of my Sister Flower 
Pitt deceased for her natural Life and to her Issue and
in default of Issue to  John  Butler and his Heirs 
for ever ??? All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my 
Estates both Real or Personal that I shall be 
interested in or entitled to at   my decease 
I give and bequeath to the aforesaid Charles Butler 
and do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my
Cousin Charles Butler Son of my Sister Mary
Butler to be my full and sole Executor of this my
last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making
void all former Wills by me heretofore made and 
ratify and confirm this to be my last Will  
my Executor paying all my Debts Legacies and
Funeral Expences and my desire is to be buried at 
Elingham as near my Mother as may be In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 
Seventeenth of February in the year of our Lord one 
thousand seven hundred and seventy eight  John Warne


Signed Sealed Published and Declared as his last Will
and Testament on the day of the date hereof in the
presence of us who have Subscribed our Names as 
witnesses at the request of the Testator Francis Bull
Wm Moody Andrew Syne

I John Warne of Ringwood in
the County of Southampton Yeoman do make and 
publish this my Codicil to my annexed last Will and 
Testament in manner following that is to say I give 
and devise all the Rent and profits that now is or 
may hereafter grow of my Life hold Estate being part 
of the Manor of Hampreston in the County of Dorset 
lying and being at a place called Leey and now
Rented on a Lease granted by Lord Arundel to John
Knapp for a term to come yielding and paying yearly 
and every year twelve pounds clear of all Taxes this
Estate is for the Lives of John Warn Charles Butler 
and Rebecca Ivimey for hte term of their Lives and I
do hereby give the Rents and profits that now is or 
may be unto the said Charles Butler and Rebecca
Ivimy share and share alike for and during the said 
term but if he the said Charles Butler should happen to 
die before sand Rebeca Ivimy then the said Share
or half part shall go to Mary Gunner Wife of 
William Gunner and if she is dead then to Mary 
Gunner Daughter of the said Mary and William Gunner And lastly it is my
desire that this present Codicil which I have annexed
to my said Will be taken as part thereof In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this 
sixteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred 
and seventy nine John Warne LS Signed Sealed 
Published and Declared by the above named John
Warne as and for a Codicil to his last Will and Testament 
in the presence of us who at his request in his presence 
and in the presence of each other have 
Subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto James Veal, James
Warn, Andrew Syne 

This Will was proved at London with
a Codicil the thirtieth day of July in the year of our 
Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty three before 
the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master 
Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of 
Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Charles 
Butler the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom 
Administartion was granted of all and singular the Goods
Chattels and Credits of the deceased he having been first sworn
by Comon duly to administer
