30 September 1780 Will of Margaret Walker of Poole, widow (proved 11 April 1781)

This is the last Will and Testament
of me Margarett Walker of the Town and County of Poole
widow and sole Executrix of Samuel Walker late of the same
place Merchant deceased for the setling and disposing of all
my Worldly Estate in manner and form following (that is to 
say First I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences 
be paid and discharged Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter
Fesby Walker the sum of four hundred pounds to be paid her
within on Month next after my decease Also I give and
bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Walker the sum of four 
hundred pounds to be also paid her within one Month next after
my death Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said two Daughters 
Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker all those my three several Messuages
Tenements or Dwelling Houses with the outhouses Courts Yards 
Gardens Hereditaments and Appurtenances thereunto adjoining
and respectively belonging situate lying and being in Poole aforesaid 
in a certain Street there called High Street late in the occupation of 


my said late Husband the said Samuel Walker Peter Jolliff and
Catharine Knight widow and now in my own occupation and the
occupation of Thomas Keats the Younger To hold the same unto
my said two Daughters Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker their
Heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as 
joint Tenants Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Son
William Walker all that my Storehouse or Warehouse with the
Lofts over the same now in my own occupation adjoining and
belonging to my Leasehold Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House 
called or known by the sign of the ship situate and being in a
certain Street called Leglane Street in Poole aforesaid now in the 
occupation of James Dolman To hold the said Storehouse or
Ware House with the Lofts over the same of and belonging to the
said last mentioned Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House unto 
my said Son William Walker and to his Executors Administrators 
and Assigns for and during all my term or terms of Years Estate 
and Interest therein Also I give devise and bequeath unto my
Daughter Mary the now Wife of Thomas Pike of the said
Town and County of Poole Marriner all that my said Leasehold
Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House called or known by the
sign of the Ship situate in Leglane Street in Poole aforesaid 
now in the occupation of the said James Dolman with the out
Houses Court Yard Garden and Appurtenances thereunto adjoining 
and belonging except the said Storehouse or Warehouse and
Lofts over the same hereinbefore otherwise given and devised to
hold the same last mentioned Messuage Tenement or Dwelling
House and Premises (except as before is excepted) unto my said 
Daughter Mary Pike and to her Executors Administrators and 
Assigns for and during all my term or terms of Years Estate 
and Interest therein Also I give and bequeath unto my
Grandson Samuel Walker (Son of the said William Walker)
my Silver Tankard Also I give and bequeath unto my said
two Daughters Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker all my
Household Furniture and Linen to be equally divided between 
them part and share alike Also I give and bequeath unto
my said Son William Walker and to my said three Daughters
Mary Pike Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker all those my
several other Leasehold Messuages Tenements or Dwelling 
Houses with the Outhouses Courts Yards Gardens and Appurts 
thereunto adjoining and belonging situate and being in Poole
aforesaid in the said Street called Leglane Street now in the
several Tenures or Occupations of John Pimer William
Gardiner and Benjamin Robbins and which were my late Father 
Joseph Strong's deceased (from and immediately after the death of 
my Sister Hannah the now Wife of Francis Wallis) To hold
all and singular the said last mentioned Leasehold Premises
unto my said Son William Walker and to my said three
Daughters Mary Pike Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker and
their Executors Administrators and Assigns as Tenants in Common
and not as joint Tenants (from and immediately after the
decease of my said Sister Hannah Wallis) for and during all
the residue and remainder of my term or terms of Years Estate


and Interest therein Also all the rest and residue of my Goods 
Chattels Rights Credits Money Plate China and other Personal
Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (not herein before
otherwise given or disposed of) I give and bequeath unto and
amongst my said Son William Walker and my said three Daughters 
Mary Pike Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker in equal shares
Dividends and Proportions And I do hereby nominate constitute
and appoint my said Son William Walker and my said three
Daughters Mary Pike Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker joint and sole
Executor and Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament 
And I do hereby revoke and make void all and every former and 
other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and
hereby declare this alone to be my true last Will and Testament 
In Witness whereof I the said Margarett Walker the Testatrix 
have to this my last Will and Testament consisting of two 
Sheets of Paper set my Hand and Seal to each Sheet the
thirtieth day of September in the Year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and eighty Margtt Walker LS
Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Margarett 
Walker the Testatrix as and for and to be her last Will and 
Testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names as
witnesses hereunto at the request and in the presence of the
said Testatrix and of each other Benj Coward  Tho Keates

This Will was proved at London the eleventh day
of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and eighty one before the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert
Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative 
Court of Canterbuy lawfully constituted by the Oaths of 
William Walker the Son Mary Pike (Wife of Thomas Pike)
Fesby Walker and Sarah Walker Spinsters the Daughters of 
the deceased and Executors named in the said Will to whom
Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods 
Chattels and Credits of the said deceased they having been
first Sworn by Commission duly to Administer
