In The name of God Amen
I Richard Smith of the Towne and County of Poole Marchant being sicke
and weake in body but of a sound and perfect memory and right minde
(Thanks be given to God for the same) And knowing the uncertainty of this my
naturall life being willing to settle things in Order before I dye I doe make 
and ordaine this to be my last will and Testament in manner and forme follow-
ing (That is to say) First and principally I Comitt my soule into the hands of 
Almighty God my Creator And unto Jesus Christ my Redeemer hopeing and 
assuredly beleiveing That I shall receive full pardon and Free remission of all my
sins And be saved by the death and meritts of my Blessed Saviour my body I 
Comitt unto the Earth of which it was made To be buried in Gods appointed time 
after such decent and Christian manner as my Executors hereafter named shall
thinke fitt in the assured hope of a Joyfull Resurrection And as to my worldly 
estate which the Lord in mercy hath lent me my will and desire is that after 
my decease the same shall be bestowed as followeth First I doe give and bequeath 
unto my deare and welbeloved wife Elizabeth Smith the sume of one Hundred
and Tenn pounds Ster Provided she doe deliver up to my Executors one Bond 
of mine of about Eighty Pounds which I gave her before our marriage And 
doe alsoe Cleere her of all such moneys and other things which I have disbursed for 
she and her Children since our marriage soe that she shall have the sume
aforesaid Cleere to her And my will and desire is That the said money shall
be paid to her out of the First money which shall be received after my decease 
Item I doe give and bequeath my Tenement and appurtences wherein Richard
Bucknam formerly lived with the Combe shopp Turfehouse Colehouse and 
the use of the Backside well and Garden with the Little Brewhouse there to
be and remaine To the onely use of my said wife during her naturall life and 
after her decease To be and remaine to my sonne John Smith and the heires 
of his body lawfully begotten thenceforth forever Item I doe give and 
bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Pelly All the money which is due to 
me from her husband (Except onely a Bond of Fifty pounds which moneys I 
doe hereby order and desire that he pay it to my Exexucotrs Item I doe give and 
bequeath unto my said daughter Sarah Pelly my Silver Tankerd Item I doe
give and bequeath unto my sonne in Law John Pelly my Blacke suite of wearing 
apparell and my Blacke Cloake Item I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne 
Thomas Smith all my Living att Litchett called by the name of Beare 
Farme To have and to hold to him and his assignes during the naturall lives of 
him and his Brother John Smith Provided that he or his Assignes doe pay out 
of hte same unto Richard Duey the sume of Fifty pounds when it comes due being
for his Portion Item I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth 
Pinnell the Two Roomes she now lives in with her Barbers Shopp thereunto
belonging with a Little Turffhouse in the Backside And the Free use of the 
Backside and well and Priviledges thereunto belonging To have and to hold to 
my said daughter Elizabeth For and during her naturall life And after her 
decease my will and desire is That the same shall be and Remaine to my sonne

John Smith and the heires of his body Lawfully begotten for ever Item I doe 
give and bequeath unto my sonne John Smith the dwelling house and all the
Roomes Cellars and priviledges to be thereunto belonging whatsoever both on 
the same side of the way and what is not herein formerly particulerly menco
ned over the way by the same streete To have and to hold unto my said sonne
John and the heires of his body lawfully begotten for ever Item I doe give 
and bequeath unto my said sonne John the sume of Fifty pounds in money
To be paid him by my Executors as soone as money comes into their hands to
doe it Item I doe give unto my said sonne John All the goods and Furni-
ture of the Best Chamber in the house wherein I now live (marchandizes
and all the Houshould Lynnen which is now or may hereafter bee there 
onely Excepted) Item I doe give unto my Granddaughter Susan Pelly
the Garden which I bought of Thomas Hawkins To have and to hold 
to her and her heires forever Item I doe give and bequeath unto my
Grandchild Sarah Pelly the sume of Five pounds to be paid her by my
Executors as soone as she come of the age of Fourteene yeares Item I doe 
give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Anna Pelly one Sixteenth
part of the Shipp MayFlower and her Appurtencs Item I doe give 
and bequeath unto my Grandchild Thomas Pelly the sume of Five 
Pounds Sterling to be paid him by my Executors within Three yeares after 
my decease Item I doe give and bequeath the sume of Twenty pounds 
unto my daughter Sarah Pelly more then what is above bequeathed to
her To be paid her out of my part of the Shipp Happy returne when
God shall send her well from the New found land (whereunto now she
is bound) Item I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth
Pinnell one Quarter part of the Shipp MayFlower and her appurtences 
All the Rest of my goods Chattells Shoppwares Shipping wares Marchan-
dizes moneys Debts Bills Bonds dues and all things else whatsoever which I
have in this world both moveable and unmoveable (my debts and Funerall
Expences being   paid and discharged) I doe give and bequeath the same
unto my Two daughters Mary Smith and Anna Smith to be equally
devided betweene them att the discretion of the Overseers of this my last 
will And my will and desire is That if all which I have herein bequea-
thed unto my said Two daughters Mary and Anna (when all my debts and 
Legacies are paid shall be made appeare to amount to more then Three
Hundred pounds betweene them Then that the Overplus (if any be) shall
be equally devided between all my Six Children either in kind or in
value att the discretion of my overseers And I doe hereby nominate 
ordaine and appoint my abovenamed Two daughters Mary Smith and 
Anna Smith to be the Joynt Executrixes of this my Last will and 
Testament And I doe hereby nominate ordaine appoint and desire my Trusty
and welbeloved Freinds Mr Samuell Hardy Minister and my brother Dennis Smith
and Mr John Gigger of Poole Marchants to be Overseers to see that this my last 
will and Testament be rightly and truly performed and fulfilled according to the 
true intent and meaning of theis presents And now into thy hands O most 
mercyfull God I Comitt my Spiritt In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett
my hand and seale This Three and Twentieth day of February Anno Regni
