In the name of God Amen
This seaventh day of December in the second yeare of the Raigne of our
Soveraigne Lord King James the Second of England &c Annoq Domini One
Thousand Six Hundred Eighty Six I Abraham Smith the Elder of the Towne 
of Poole in the County of Dorset Hosier als Wool Comber being now sicke and
weake in body but thanks bee to God of a sound and perfect mind and memory and 
knoweing the uncertainty of this my naturall life being desireous to settle things in 
order before I die I doe make and ordaine this my last Will hereby declareing and
makeing null and void all former and other Wills whatsoever by mee formerly made


or declared in word or writeing and ratifyeing allowing and confirming these presents to
bee my only and last Will and Testament in manner and forme following First and
Principally I Commit my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator and
unto Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer in and through whome I trust to
receive full pardon and free rmeission of all my sinns and to bee saved and preserved 
to eternall life after this Temporall life shall bee ended My body I Commit to the
earth of which it was made to bee buried in Gods appointed time after such decent
and Christian manner as mine Executrix hereunder named shall thinke fit in the
assured hope of a Joyfull resurrection And as for my Worldly estate which the 
Lord in mercy hath lent mee my will and desire is that after my decease the same
shall bee bestowed as followeth Imprimis I doe give and bequeath unto my dearly 
beloved wife Magdalen Smith all and singuler my dwelling house wherein I now live
scituate in Poole abovesaid in or by a streete there commonly called High Streete together 
with all and singuler the Roomes outhouses garden ground and appurtenances which to
the same belongeth or appertaineth To have and To hold the said dwelling house roomes 
outhouses garden    ground and appurtenances unto my said beloved Wife Magdalen
Smith and her Assignes from and after the time of my decease thenceforth for and dureing 
her naturall life Item I oe give and bequeath the same dwelling house roomes out-
houses garden ground and appurtenances to bee after the death or departure of my said 
wife above named out of this naturall life equally shared and divided in kind or value 
amongst and betweene all my Children which shall bee then liveing share and share 
alike Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Abraham Smith the summer of tenn
pounds sterling to bee paid him by mine Executrix within twelve moneths next after 
my decease And one Presse for stockings which standeth in the Kitchin and all my
press and parking boards for stockings alsoe all my stocking leggs and all other my
utensills belonging to my Trade of a Woolcomber except only one other Presse and
one paire of new Combs which I give to my sonne Alexander Item I give to my sonne
Henry Smith all my weareing Apparrell Item I give and bequeath unto all the rest of 
my Children twelve pence to each of them And as for all the rest of my estate goods 
chattells credits moneys bills bonds dues and other things whatsoever which I shall leave
behind mee in this World both moveable and immoveable my debts legacyes and funerall
expences being first paid and discharged I doe give and bequeath the same unto my aforesd
beloved wife to have the ordinary use of and for her to ???de upon for the supporte 
and maintenancde of herselfe and my Children only and to noe other ??e for and 
dureing her naturall life And for what of the same shall bee left at her decease my
will and desire is that the same shall bee equally divided after her death betweene all
my Children which shall bee then liveing share and share alike And I doe hereby 
ordaine nominate appoint make and constitute my aforesaid beloved Wife Magdalen
Smith to bee the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And doe appoint
impower and desire my trusty and loveing freinds Mr Willam Minty and my Cosen
Thomas Smith both of Poole aforesaid Mercers to bee Overseers of this my last 
Will and to take care that the same shall bee rightly and truely performed and fulfilled 
according to the true intent and meaning of these presents In Witness whereof I have
hereunto put my hand and seale the day and yeare above written  Abra Smith
Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the above named Testator these
presents to bee his last Will and Testament in presence of Richard Bucknam
Grace Skinner Debrah Linthorne her marke John Millett
