In the name of God Amen
Jno Scott of the Towne and County of Poole mariner being sicke in body
but of good perfect memory thanks be to god doth make and ordayne this 
to bee my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge that is to 
say First bequeath my soule in to the handes of god my body to bee buried at the 
discretion of my Executrix and overseers And for my worldly goodes which it hath
pleased god to give mee I bequeath as followeth Imprimis I give unto the poore 
people of the parish of Saint James in Poole the summe of six shillings and eight 
pence of good english money to bee distributed according tot he discretion of my
executrix and overseers hereafter named Also I give to my wives Father 
Henry Bowne and my wives mother both in Newfoundland the Summe of 
twenty shillings a piece to buy them each a ringe Also I give unto my mother 
Elizabeth Tito of Poole aforesaid widdow the summe of five pounds of good 
English money Alsoe I give and bequeath unto my children and the survivor or 
Survivors of them the one moyetie or halfe part of all such cleare estate of   full

househould goods and all other goods and money which shall bee and remayne after 
they are come of lawfull age and all (that is to say the youngest) of them shall become 
to lawfull age the which said halfe parte shall be equally divided to and amongest them
All the rest and residue of all my goodes and chattells money plate househouldstuffe 
goodes at sea or debts wheresoever or from whomsoever due my debts being paid my Le
gacies performed and funerall expences first paid and discharged I wholly give and 
bequeath unto my loveing wife Elizabeth Scott whom I nominate and appointe to 
bee the sole executrix of this my last will and testament And lastly I doe nominate 
desire and appoyntt my loveinge friends John Pitman and Edward Tayler both of 
Poole aforesaid to bee overseers of this my last will In Wittnes whereof I have hereunto
sett my hand and seale the twentie fourth day of February one thousand six hundred 
fiftie eight  John Skott  Sealed and acknowledged in the presence of Robert Lodge 
Ed Taylor Richard Smith

This will was proved at London the nyne and 
twentieth day of March in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred
fiftie and nyne Before the Judges for probate of willes and grannting administracons 
lawfully ??thorized By the oath of Elizabeth Scott the relict of the said deceased 
and sole executrix named in the same will To whom was committed Administra
tion of all and singular the goodes chattells and debts of the said deceased accor-
ding to the tenor true effect and meaning of the said will Shee being first sworne by 
virtue of a Commission well and faithfully to administer the same
