30 June 1674 Will of George Savage of Bloxworth, gentleman (proved 28 June 1675)

In the Name of God Amen I George
Savage of East Bloxworth in the Countie of Dorset gent weak and sick of
Bodie, but of perfect memorie, Thankes be given to Almightie God, revoking
all former doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and
forme following: (that is to say) First I bequeath my Soule to God my
Creator that gave it mee, trusting wholy and depending onely on the merits 
and satisfaction of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for the free pardon
and forgiveness of all my Synns and Trespasses: And as for my Bodie I 
bequeath it to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buryed, but 
thriftily and privately and by night in the Church yard of Bloxworth 
aforesaid, and as neare my late beloved wife there as conveniently may be
layd: Item I give unto my Sonn in Lawe Robert Watts my gray spayd Mare
And to my Sonn Jehonadab Savage all my Plough horses or horse beasts

with their harnesses, and all my Utensills, as Carts Dung-pots wheales Graggs
harrows and the like: Item I give unto my foure Daughters Elizabeth
the wife of George Filliter Mabell the wife of Edmund Guy Anne Ridout
widdowe adn Phebe the wife of Robert Watts to each and every of them two
shillings six pence lawfull English money: Item I give these my three Grand-
children (viz) to George Watts Robert and Anne Watts Sonns and daughter 
of the said Robert Watts and the said Phebe his wife to each and every
of them twentie pounds lawfull English money, and to be payd them as they
shall attaine their severall and respective Ages of fourteene yeares And if 
any or either of them happen to dye before his or her Age soe obteyned, That
then his or her portion soe dying shall be and remaine to the Survivours 
or survivour of them: Item I give to my Servant Mary Pottle halfe a yeares
wages, if shee shall be living with mee at the tyme of my decease: Item I 
give unto my Daughter Anne Ridout the Summe of fortie shillings for her 
to dispose of in what shee shall think fit The rest of all my Goods and chatells 
not hereby given and bequeathed (my Debts and funerall Expences first 
discharged and payd) I give unto my Sonn Robert Watts and to my said
Daughter Ann Ridout whome I doe make joynt Executors of this my last
Will and Testament; Provided allwaies and upon this Trust in them reposed 
and upon this Condition alsoe, that if my said Sonn Jehonadab Savage shall
within twelve Moneths after my decease well and truely pay or secure all
myne owne proper Debts, and not onely Specialties but likewise single contracts
And shall likewise well and truely pay or secure all my Legacies hereby
given according to my true intent and meaning, That then my said Executors 
shall relinquish this their Executorship, and quietly permitt my said Sonn
Jehonadab to sue forth Letters of Administration of all my said Goods and
Chattells with this my Testatment annexed; And this being done my will
then is that they my said Executors shall give my said Sonn Accompt of what
they have receaved and payd by them in Order to ????? performance of this
my said Will, And the Overplus (if any shall be) to be returned unto him, their
necessary charges and expences first deducted and allowed: In witnesse
whereof I have hereunto set myne hand and Seale the last Day of June in 
the six and twentieth yeare of the reigne of Our Soveraigne Lord Charles 
the second King of England &c Annoq Domini one thousand six hundred
seaventie foure G Savage Sealed published and declared with this
Memorandum that all Interlyniations were before the Sealing publishing
and declaring hereof in presence of us  Ben Savage  William Savage
