I Edward Pudner of Topsham in the County of Devon but now residing at Bonavista in the Island of Newfoundland in North America being of sound and collected mind but mindful of the uncertainty of human life and in order to prevent any dispute or doubt arising from my decease as to the disposition of the property it has pleased God to endow me with do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner following To my loving Wife Mary Pudner I give devise and bequeath all that plantation or fishing room situate lying and being at Bonavista aforsd commonly called or known by the name of Sheppards room lately purchased by me from Messrs Benj Lester and Co with all the erections and appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the same during her natural life and it is my desire and wish that she shall leave the same by will to whoever she shall please to favor with it at her decease also every part and parcel of my household Furniture Goods chattels plate and linen To my loving Sister Esther White of Topsham but now residing at Greenwich I give devise and bequeath the Sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to hold the same to her own proper use for ever to be paid her by my executors hereinafter named within twelve Calendar months after my decease To my niece Fanny White oldest Daughter of the aforesaid Esther White (or by whatever name she may be known or called I give demise and bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to hold the same to her own proper use for ever to be paid by my executors within twelve Calendar Months after my decease To my niece Sophia White second daughter of the aforesaid Esther White or my whatever name she may be known or called I give demise and bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to hold the same to her own proper use for ever to be paid by my executors within twelve Calendar months after my decease To my surviving nephews and nieces Sons and Daughters of my sister Ann White deceased I give and bequeath to each and every surviving one at my decease the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to hold the same to their own proper use for ever to be paid them by my executors within twelve Calendar months after my decease To Andrew Taverner or Trinity oldest Son of Andrew and Catharine Taverner I give and bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to to hold the same to his own proper use for ever to be paid him by my executors within twelve Calendar months after my decease To George Robins of Poole but now residing at Bonavista I give demise and bequeath the sum of fifty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to have and to hold the same to his own proper use he and his heirs for ever to be paid by my executors within twelve Calendar months after my decease To my nephew Robert White late of Topsham but now residing at Lympstone I give demise and bequeath all my wearing apparel linen wollen &c To David Durell of Poole I give and bequeath the sum of five pounds to purchase a piece of plate as a token of remembrance to Abraham Akerman the elder of this place I give and bequeath the sum of five pounds to purchase a suit of mourning to each of my executors hereinafter named I give demise and bequeath the sum of twenty pounds to purchase a piece of plate each as a token of remembrance the residue and remainder of my effects and estate I give demise and bequeath to my executors in trust hereinafter named for the purposes of my will that is to say) that after all my just debts and funeral expences is paid they shall lay out and invest the same in parliamentary stocks or public funds or on real or government securities at interest as he or they shall think fit and as the dividends and produce thereof become due pay the same to my loving Wife Mary Pudner during her natural life and I do hereby fully authorize and empower my executors in trust to receive the dividends thereof till her decease and they the said trustees or the survivor of them his executors admors or assigns shall pay transfer and set over at the decease of my Wife Mary Pudner the principal sum to the following purposes one hundred pounds to George Garland Esquire his executors admors or assigns to be distributed by his or their agent at Bonavista ten pounds per annum for ten years in Cloathing and provisions to distressed objects of Charity of and belonging to this place Five hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to my only surviving sister Esther White but should she not be living at the decease of my Wife this sum is to be appropriated to the purposes of the will hereinafter mentioned the same as if no such person had ever existed to the intent and meaning that surviving nephews and nieces shall share and share alike at the decease of my said Wife the residue and remainder of my estate to be divided equally among all and every one of my nephews and nieces sons and daughters of my sisters Esther and Ann White (surviving at the decease of my Wife share and share alike to their own proper use they and their heirs for ever also by this Will and testament I constitute and appoint George Garland esquire Joseph White Jeffery and David Durell Bird all of the town and county of Poole in Dorsetshire Executors and trustees to this my last Will and testament contained in one sheet of paper and it is my desire that a Copy of this my Will may be sent them as soon as convenient that they may take the most effectual means to carry it into effect and I do hereby revoke all former and other wills by be at any time heretofore made declaring this to be my only and true will In Witness whereof I the said Edward Pudner have hereunto set my hand and seal at Bonavista aforesaid this twenty sixth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and six Edward Pudner LS Signed
