In the Name of God Amen
I William Phipheard Senr of the Towne and Country of Poole
Mariner having attained unto old age knowing the uncertainty of my life
in this World whilst I am of sound and perfect memory Doe make this 
my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following My Soule I
committ into the the hands of Allmighty God and my Body I desire to
committ unto the Earth as my Executrix shall think fitt And as to such
worldly Goods called by what name soever reall and personall as God
hath been pleased to give me I now dispose of the same (after my decease)
in manner and forme as is hereafter in these presents mentioned and
expressed My will is that my debts and funerall Expences be first of all
fully satisfyed and paid and ten pounds Sterling given unto the poore
of Poole as my Executrix shall think fitt Imprimis I give and bequeath
unto my Daughter Christian Thomas the yearly Summe of five pounds
Sterling to be paid her yearly during all the time of her naturall life out 
of the yearly Rent and Income of my living at Woods neare Poole in
the possession of John Linington And I alsoe give and bequeath unto
my youngest Daughter Hanna the Wife of Alexander Smith the yearly
Summe of foure pounds Sterling to be paid her yearly during all the
time of her naturall life out of the yearly Rent and Income of my
aforesaid living at Woods and with provisoe and upon Condition if 
my Wife Anna Phipheard doe not at any time hereafter after my
decease challenge claime or trouble and molest Joseph Waterman his
heires Executors or Assignes nor pretend unto any Right unto a
certaine parcell of land heretofore that I sold him lying at Lower
Kingstone neare Ringwood Nor after my decease challenge lay claime
or pretence of Right unto any parte or portion of any of my other land
nor after my decease challenge lay claime or pretence of Right unto any
parte or portion of any Estate of reall or personall Estate Chattell money or
Goods that I ever at any time heretofore had or shall have or leave
behind me in this World at my decease (called by what name soever)
And moreover alsoe with Provisoe and upon Condition that she hath
not nor doe not hereafter borrow nor contract any debt to charge or 
trouble me my Estate after me nor my Executrix hereafter named I
give with that provisoe and upon that Condition unto my said Wife
Ann Phipheard aforesaid the yearly Summe of ten pounds Sterling 
absolutely to be paid her certainly by my Executrix yearly during all the
time of her naturall life out of the yearly Rent and Income Overplus and
profitts in all manner of wages coming due or accrewing out of my aforesd
Living at Woods near Poole in the possession of John Linington or
otherwise out of the other Rents and Income of mine in Poole And I alsoe
give her immediatly after my decease a Bed and Bedstead furnished 
vizt with a good Feather bed Bedstead Rugg two Blanketts four Sheetes


and Curtains and Vallence and Appurtenances thereunto belonging 
and appertaining bolsters and pillows convenient for a decent Lodging 
Further my will alsoe is that all the Rest and Residue of my Estate reall
and personall or that shall accrew hereafter from the same either Money
ware merchandize household goods all things whatsoever it be called by
what name soever I will that it be parted and shared amongst my children
and my Grandchildren as followeth Into Twenty Six equall Shares of 
which shares I give unto my eldest Son William Phipheard two Shares
Item of the said twenty Six equall Shares I give unto my daughter
Christian Thomes two Shares (over and above the yearly Summe above
mentioned ) and to her Husband One Shilling Item of the said Twenty Six
equall Shares I give unto my Daughter Martha Barfoote one Share
and to her Husband one Shilling Item of the said Twenty Six equall
Shares I give unto my Daughter Joane Bond two Shares and to her
Husband one Shilling Item of the said twenty Six Equall Shares I give
unto my Daughter Hanna the Wife of Alexander Smith one Share (over
and above the yearly Summe abovementioned) and to her Husband one
Shilling Item of the said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my Grand
Son Thomas Phipheard one Share Item of the said Twenty Six Equall
Shares I give unto my GrandSon William Phipheard two Shares Item
of the said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my Grandson Josiah
Thomas two Shares Item of the said twenty Six Equall Shares I give
unto my GrandDaughter Melicent Thomes one Share Item of the 
said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my Grand Daughter Martha
Bowden One Share Item of the said Twenty Six equall Shares I give
unto my Grand Daughter Mary Barefoote One Share Item of the
said Twenty Six equall Shares I give unto my Grand Daughter Hanna
Barefoote One Share Item of the said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give
unto my Grand Son William Barfoote one share Item of the said 
Twenty Six equall Shares I give unto my Grand Daughter Joane
Barefoote one Share Item of the said Twenty Six equall Shares I give
unto my Grand Son George Barfoote one Share Item of the said 
Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my Grand Daughter Hester
Barfoote one Share Item of the said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give
unto my Grand Daughter Joane Bond one Share Item of the said 
Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my Grand Son Joseph Bond
one Share Item of the said Twenty Six Equall Shares I give unto my
Grand Son William Bond one Share Item of the said Twenty Six
equall Shares I give unto my Grand Son Alexander Smith one Share
Item of the said Twenty Six equall Shares I give unto my Grand
Daughter Mary Smith one Share Lastly I nominate and appoint my
Daughter Joane Bond to be the sole Executrix of this my last Will
and Testament to fullfill and performe the same And I null and 
make void all former Wills by me heretofore made and I publish
this to be my only last Will and Testament Dated and made in
Poole the Fifth day of April Annoq Domini Seaventeen hundred
and five Annoq Domini 1705 in the fourth yeare of the Reigne of
Our Souveraigne Lady Queen Ann  Whilliam Phipard Signed
Sealed published and declared to be my last Will and Testament
in presence of And I alsoe say concerning such of my Grandchildrens
Share or Shares as are abovementioned and are in their Minoritys
I say That their respective Shares at day of Marriage or when are


of age to chuse a Guardian the full Share or Shares of each child
them without making any kind or manner of Defalcation upon any pretence
whatsoever shall be payable by my said Executrix at Each Childs day
of marriage or when are of age to chuse a Guardian in the meane
time it shall remaine with my said Executrix for the said Childrens
Security and not payable before

Memorandum The razing out in this Postscript above was done by 
order of the said William Phipheard and made before the Sealing 
and delivery hereof Richard Newland John Slade Charles Anstey

A Memorandum made the Sixth day of September
One thousand Seaven hundred and Six Whereas I have alsoe a Right
to the Fee of a small house in Carters Lane in Poole which through
Inadvertency and forgettfullness I ommitted to mention in this my Will
above written the which house is now in the Tenure and Occupation of
Abraham Thomes Taylor My will is that over and above what I have 
bequeathed unto my Children Sr William Phipard Christian Thomes 
Martha Barfoote Joane Bond and Anna Smith I will that the land
or Fee Simple of that House alsoe descend and goe amongst all my said
Children and their heires and Assignes forever I say after my decease 
I will that it descend and goe to Sr William Phipard Christian Thomas
Martha Barfoote Joane Bond and Anna Smith equally to be divided 
amongst them and their heires and Assignes forever Witness my
hand and Seale the Sixth day of September One thousand Seaven hundred
and Six unto this additionall Postscript then written  William Phipard
Signed Sealed published and declared this to be now againe the Conclusion 
of my last Will and Testament in presence of Mellay Hining Stephen
Dickery Junr his marke Jno Gigger
