This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Phippard of Holton within the Parish of Saint
Martin in Wareham in the County of Dorset Gentleman made and published this Sixth Day of December in the Year of
our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty five as follows First I Give unto my Sister Mary the Wife of Simeon
Grant and to her Daughters Mary Snell Elizabeth the Wife of Peter Barret and Sarah Snell The Sum of Five Pounds each
to be paid them out of my Lands at Holton aforesaid in Five Years after my decease by Twenty Shillings a year to each of
them And I do hereby will and direct that in Case either of them shall happen to dye before payment of her aforesaid
Legacy that then the same or so much thereof as shall then remain unpaid shall go and be paid to and amongst the Children of
such of them so dying before Payment thereof as aforesaid Also I Give unto my Brother John White and his Four Children
The Sum of Five Pounds to be equally divided between them to be also paid them out of my Lands at Holton aforesaid by Twenty
Shillings a Year from the Time of my decease Also I Give unto my Daughter Mary Brixey The Sum of One Hundred and 
Twenty Pounds to be paid her by my Executors hereinafter named at the end of one Year after my decease She the said Mary Brixey
on the payment thereof giving and executing to my said Executors a General Release of all Actions Suits and Demands
whatsoever And I do hereby Will and direct that in case the said Mary Brixey shall happen to dye before Payment of her
aforesaid Legacy That then the same shall go and be paid to and amongst her Children by equal Shares and proportions
Also I Give unto my Daughter Susanna the Wife of William Nicholls the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to be paid her by my
Executors hereinafter named at the end of one Year after my decease They the said William Nicholls and Susanna his Wife on the
payment thereof giveing and executing unto my said Executors a General Release of all Actions Suits and Demands whatsoever
And I do hereby Will and direct that in case my said Daughter Susanna shall happen to Dye before payment of her aforesaid 
Legacy That then the same shall go and be paid to and amongst her Children by equal shares and proportions Provided always
that in case my Personal Estate shall (after payment of my Debts and Funeral Expences) prove insufficient for the payment of the
Legacys hereinbefore given to my said Daughters Then I do hereby charge All my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments at Holton
aforesaid with the Payment thereof Also I Give unto my Son William Phippard my Silver Tankard Also I Give unto my Son
John Phippard my Silver Bowl Also I Give unto my Son Thomas Phippard my Two Silver Cups with Two Handles each
Also I Give unto my Son George Phippard my Silver Cup with one Handle and Six Silver Spoons Also I Give unto my Son
Pinnell Phippard all the rest of my Silver Spoons and other Plate my Gold Shirt Buttons and my Watch Also I Give and devise
unto my Son William Phippard and his Heirs forever All that my Messuage or Tenement Situate lying and being in the Parish of
Litchet Minster in the said County of Dorset called or known by the name of Whitehorne with the Lands Hereditaments and Appurtenances
thereto belonging now in the Tenure of Samuel Rogers Also I Give unto my said Son William Phippard the Sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid
him out of my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments at Holton aforesaid Also I Give and devise unto my said Five Sons William
Phippard John Phippard Thomas Phippard George Phippard and Pinnell Phippard All my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments 
situate lying and being at Holton aforesaid and in the Parish of Saint Martin in Wareham aforesaid Subject to the payment of all my
just Debts and Subject likewise to the Payment of the Several Legacys hereinbefore given To hold the same and every part thereof with
their and every of their Rights Members and Appurtenances (subject as aforesaid) unto the said William Phippard John Phippard
Thomas Phippard George Phippard and Pinnell Phippard and their several and respective Heirs and Assigns forever 
Provided always and it is my Will and desire that my said Five souns do as soon after my decease as a proper Purchaser can be procured
Sell and dispose of my said Lands Tenements and Hereditaments at Holton aforesaid (if they shall think fitt) and the Moneys
arising by such Sale thereof (after payment of my Debts and the Legacys hereinbefore given) part and divide equally betwen
them And lastly all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattells Real and Personal Estates I Give and bequeath unto my
said Five Sons William Phippard John Phippard Thomas Phippard George Phippard and Pinnell Phippard And Do make and 
appoint them my said Five Sons Joint Executors of this my Last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my Hand and Seal the Day and Year above written

Testament in the Presence of us whose Names are hereunder
written who at his request in his presence and in the
presence of each other have Subscribed our Names as
Witnesses hereto

	The 10th Day of June 1766
The within written Will of Thomas Phippard deceased was proved by the Oaths of John Phippard and Thomas Phippard
the natural and lawful Sons of the said deceased and two of the Executors within named (George Phippard one other of the
Executors within named being dead) to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased
was granted they being first sworne faithfully to administer the same according to Law; also to exhibit a true and perfect
Inventory thereof into the Registry of the Bishop of Bristol and to render a just Account thereon when thereunto lawfully
required (the like power being reserved to William Phippard and Pinnell Phippard the other two Executors when they
shall respectively apply for the same)
