In the Name of God Amen:
I Samson Mifflen late of Warminster in the County of Wilts
but now of the Town and County of Poole Mariner and now
bound to Newfoundland the first convoy and considering the
uncertainty of every thing here below and the many dangers
I may be exposed to in the course of my intended voyage and
being thro' Mercy at present in perfect Health do make this
my later Will and Testament In the first place I recommend
my Soul to Almighty God expecting to be saved thro' the
Merits of Jesus Christ his Son my Saviour and that after my
decease my Body be buried in a decent manner wherever
the same shall happen Item I leave and bequeath unto
Edward Mifflen of Warminster Wilts my Brother German
Three hundred Pounds Item I leave and bequeath unto my
Brother Solomon Mifflen Three hundred Pounds Item I
leave and bequeath unto my Sister Mary the Wife of
William Jameson the Interest of three hundred pounds which
sum of Money my will is that my Executors herein after
mentioned shall as soon as may be after my decease put out
at Interest on good Land Security and pay or cause to be
paid unto my said sister Mary the full Interest of the said
three hundred pounds annually or half yearly as the same becomes
due during her life and at her decease my will is that the said
three hundred Pounds shall revert to my Brother Edward Mifflen
and his children as he thinks proper or he may leave it to
them by Will in case he should die before my said Sister
Mary Item I leave and bequeath unto my Nephew John
Mifflen Son of my Brother Edward one hundred pounds Item
I leave and bequeath unto Samson Mifflen my Nephew 
Son of my Brother Edward one hundred pounds Item I leave
and bequeath unto each of my Brother Edwards's three
Daughters Fifty pounds Item I leave and bequeath unto
Mary the Daughter of my Sister Mary Jameson five pounds
Item I leave and bequeath unto Samson Jameson son of
my Sister Mary One hundred pounds to be put to Interest
as soon as may be after my decease by my Executors
hereafter mentioned and the principal and Interest to be
paid him when he shall attain the full age of twenty four
years and in case he should die before he attains that age
and before his Mother my Will is that Interest of the said
hundred pounds shall be paid to her during her life and
the hundred pounds shall revert to my Nephew Solomon
Mifflen Item I leave and bequeath unto my said Nephew
Solomon Mifflen son of my Brother Edward five hundred
pounds beside the one hundred pounds before mentioned
in case my Nephew Samson Jameson's decease which Sum of
five hundred pounds I desire my Executors hereafter mentioned
to put out to Interest as soon as may be after my decease
on good Security and the principal with the Interest to be
paid him when he attains the full age of twenty four years
or sooner if my Executors sees it to be convenient I



likewise give and bequeath him all my Wearing Apparel
Books and Instruments and in case he should die before
he is of full age my Will is the said five hundred pounds 
and likewise the one hundred pounds of Samson Jameson's
in case of his decease shall all revert to my Brother
Edward and his children Item I leave and bequeath to my
God Daughter Mary the Daughter of Joseph Randall Senr
in Bonavista Newfoundland fifty pounds and unto John
and Rachel Lester my God Children I give to each one
Guinea to buy a Ring in Remembrance of me Item I give
and bequeath to Mr Richard Corpe Captain Joseph Randall
Captain Thomas Clark Captain James Randall Captain Peter
Street Captain Thomas Anstey Captain John Archbold and
Joseph Randall Junr one Guinea each to buy a Ring in
remembrance of me Lastly I give and bequeath unto my
Brother Edward Mifflen all that I may leave after the
above Legacies are paid of whatever kind it may be whether
Real or Personal And I hereby nominate and appoint my
said Brother Edward Mifflen and Mr Richard Corpe my
joine Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby
revoking and makng void all former Wills and Testaments
made by me In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my
Hand and Seal in Pool this 16th day of April 1759 fifty nine
Samson Mifflen  S  Signed Sealed published and declared
to be the last Will and Testament of the above Samson
Mifflen the words he attains that age and before first
interlined before us Richd Hayward  Thos Anstey

This Will was proved at London on the twenty second
day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and sixty before the Right Worshipful
Edward Simpson Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary
of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted
by the Oaths of Edward Mifflen and Richard Corpe the
Executors named in the said Will to whom administration
was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits
of the decease they having been first sworn by Commission
duly to administer
