In the name of God Amen I Edward Legge of the Citty of Bristow Inholder beinge Sick and weake of body but of perfect mynd and memory Thankes bee given to Allmightygod Doe make and declare this my Last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of my Creator And my body to the earth hopeinge for a Joyfull resurrection by the merritte of Jesus Christ my Savior and redeemer And for my worldly goods I give and beqeath in manner followinge First I give and bequeath to my Loveinge mother Elizabeth Legge fifteene pounds Item I give to my elder brother Richard Legg all my Cloath in the Custody of my uncle George Legge in Saris and my best two Suites of Cloathes and ?r??y? Cloake Item I give unto my Sayd brother Richard Legge five pounds in money And alsoe give and release unto him the bond which is due unto mee from him Item I give unto my brother John Legge my Sword and belt my blacke stuffe Cloake and breade ????h Cloake and a paire of new walkeinge bootes Item I give more unto my brother Richard Legge my ??aire of waxbootes and my walkeinge bootes Item I give to my Sister Anne Legge Fifty shillings Item I give unto Mrs Grace G??ters Children Three pounds Item I give unto the poore of the parish of Netherhaven tenn shillings All which sayd Legacies in money my will and desire is my executrix hereafternamed shall pay within six moneths after my decease And my other Legacies to bee delivered presently after my decease And all other my goods Creditts and Chattles unbequeathed I give and bequeath to my Loveinge wife Martha Legge whom I make Sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale This Twentith day of Aprill 1654 Edward Legge Signed published and declared to bee the Last will and Testament of the above named Edward Legge in the presence of Wal: Pykes Ri Legge This will was proved at London the Sixteenth day of May in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred fifty and five before the iJudges for probate of will and grantinge Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Martha Legge the relict of the Sayd deceased and Sole executrix named in this last will and Testament of the sayd deceased To whom was Committed Administraton of all Singuler the goods Chattles and Debts of the Sayd deceased shee the Sayd Martha Legge beinge first sworne by vertue of a Commission well and truely to Administer the Same
