In the Name of God Amen
I Mark Jacob of the City of Bristoll Marriner being in health
of Body and of sound and Disposing mind and memory
being now bound to parts beyond the Seas and considering the
certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof 
Doe make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following (that is to say) Imprimis I
Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Son Mark Jacob
all those my three severall Messuages Tenements or
Houses with their appurtenances now or late in my own
holding and in the severall holdings or Occupations of
William Lawrence Shipwright and George Haskins 
Marriner scituate and being in Marsh street in the
parish of St Stephen within the said City To Hold to my
said Son his Executors Administrators and Assigns for
and During all the rest and residue of my severall Estates 
Terms and Interest therein Item I Give to my said son one full
Eighth part (the whole into Eight equall parts to be Divided) of
all that Ship or Vessell called the Carolina Galley of Bristoll
now lying in the Port of Bristoll (whereof I am now Master)
and of all her Boats Cargoe Tackle and appurtenances And
I Give to my said Son one full third part (the whole into three
equall parts to be Divided) of all my Houshold Goods implements 
of Houshold Plate and Rings Item I Give to my Daughter
Mary the Sum of One Hundred and fifty pounds to be paid 
to her att her Age of One and Twenty years or Day of marriage 
(which shall first happen) Item I Give and Bequeath unto my
Daughters Ann and Mary all the rest and residue of my
Messuages Tenements and Houses scituate in Mach street 
aforesaid or elsewhere within the said City To Hold to them
their Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during 
all my Estate Term and Interest therein and thereunto equally
between them as Tenants in Common And I Give to my said
Daughters all the rest and residue of my Houshold Goods
and implements of Houshold parts of Ships Plate Goods
Wares Merchandizes and other my personall Estate 
whatsoever equally between them Share and Share alike
(my Debts and funerall Expences being first paid and
Discharged) subject nevertheless to the severall Provisoes limitacons
and Directions herein after mentioned and Declared Item 
I Give and Bequeath unto my Sister in law Margaret
Bradly late Wife of William Bradly Marriner deceased 
One Annuity or yearly Rent Charge of Three pounds of 
lawfull money of Great Brittain To be issuing and payable
to her and her Assigns yearly and every yearly during the 
naturall Life of her the said Margaret out of and from all and 


every my said Messuages Tenements or Houses herein before
mentioned given and Bequeathed (if my severall Estates and 
Interest therein shall so long continue) to be paid at and upon
the four most usuall quarterly payments in the year by the
severall and respective person or persons who shall or may from
time to time hold and enjoy the said premises by virtue of these 
presents In proportion and according to the respective yearly 
Rents of the said Houses and premises and clear of all Taxes
and payments whatsoever Provided always and it is my Will
and meaning that if my said Son Mark shall happen to dye
before he attain the Age of One and Twenty years that then I 
Give to my said Daughter Mary the further Sum of One Hundred 
pounds to be raised and paid out of the severall Legacies and
Bequests herein before given to my said Son and from and after 
the payment of the said Sum of One Hundred pounds I Give 
Devise and Bequeath all and every the Messuages and Houses 
herein before given and bequeathed to my said Son unto my
said Daughters Ann and Mary for all the residue and 
remainder of the severall Estates Terms and Interest therein
then to come as Tenants in common and not as joynt Tenants 
And I Give my said Daughters all the residue of the said legacies 
herein before given to my said Son equally between them
Share and Share alike the said One Hundred pounds being first 
paid and Discharged thereout And if both or either of my said 
Daughters shall happen to Dye before they or either of them shall
or may happen to attain their respective Ages of One and twenty
years or be married that then the Legacy or Legacies of her or
them so dying shall goe be paid and Divided between the
Survivors or Survivor of my said Children equally and in
manner aforesaid Item my Will and meaning farther is That 
my said Trustees herein after named shall and may sell and 
Dispose of all or any part of my Estate herein before given and 
Bequeathed to my said Children respectively and convert the 
same into ready moneys and place that and the other moneys 
hereby given my said Children out att Interest in their own Names
but for the benefitt of my said Children respectively And that they
my said Trustees also receive and take the rents and proffitts of all
the said Houses hereby given my said Children or either of them
untill they shall respectively attain their respective Ages or be married 
as aforesaid And that untill such Age or marriage that they my
said Trustees shall and may Issue and pay all or any part of the
Interest Increase Rents and proffitts of the said moneys and Houses 
for and towards the maintenance and Education of my said 
Child and Children (as they shall think fitt) And I Will that my said
Trustees shall not be answerable to responsible for any loss that 
may happen by any bad or insufficient Security or Securities 
for moneys lent Provided also and it is my further Will and 
meaning and I Doe hereby Will and Declare That if my said
Daughter Ann shall at any time hereafter intermarry with
William Welch of the said City of Bristoll Weaver or Merchant 
that then and in such case I Give to my said Daughter Ann
one Shilling only and no more and Do will and appoint that all


the other Legacies and Bequests herein before given and 
Bequeathed unto my said Daughter Ann shall immediately
upon such marriage cease and be void And I Do from
hence forth Give and Bequeath all the same Legacy and
Legacies unto my said Son and Daughter Mark and Mary
Jacob and the Survivor of them and my said Daughter Ann
shall have or receive no benefitt or Advantage whatsoever by
this my Will or by or out of my Estate (besized the said One
shilling) upon any pretence whatsoever Item In case all
and every of my said Children shall happen to dy before he
she or they shall respectively attain his her or their Age or
Ages of One and Twenty years or be married as aforesaid 
that then and in such Case I Give the Sum of One Hundred pounds
to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish
of St Stephen within the City of Bristoll for the time being
to be by them from time to time placed forth att Interest and 
the Interest thereof to be paid and Distributed to and amongst 
the poor of the said parish Item I Give and Bequeath unto
my said Son Mark Jacob the Sum of fifty pounds in money
to be paid him within twelve Months after my Decease Item
in case the said Ship called the Carolina Galley (whereof I am
now Master) shall happen to be lost or miscarry att any time 
during my Life then I Give my said Son fifty pounds more 
but not otherwise Item in case all and every of my said 
Children shall happen to dye before they respectively attain
his her or their Age of One and twenty years or marriage 
as aforesaid that then I Give unto Mrs Limbry Widow of 
Mr James Limbry and to her Daughters Ann Priscilla and
Mary Limbry One Hundred pounds equally to be Divided
between them Share and Share alike And I Give and Devise 
all the remainder of my Estate both reall and personall Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever unto such person or persons
and his and their Heirs Executors and Administrators as is 
are or shall be my right Heir or Heirs or nearest of kinn
to me att the time of my Decease and living in the Town
of Dubranize in the Territories of Ragousa and Country 
of Dalmatia where I was born and I make my good 
friends Richard Jefferis and James Pare both of he said 
City of Bristoll Merchants Trustees and Executors in
Trust of this my Will and Give to each of them two
Guineas in Gold and revoking all former Wills and 
Testaments Doe Declare this to be my last Will and 
Testament In Witness whereof I the said Mark Jacob
have to this my last Will and Testament contained and 
written in four Sheets of paper set my Hand to the three
first Sheets and my hand and Seal to the last Sheet thereof 
the nineteenth day of June One Thousand Seven Hundred
and Ten  Mark Jacob  Signed Sealed published and 
Delivered by the said Mark Jacob to be his last Will and 
Testament the Word (Cargoe) and the words (and 
fifty) being first interlined in the fifteenth and Eighteenth
Lines of the first Sheet in the presence of Isaac Taylor
