I William Hooper of the Towne & County of Poole Baker being in good health of Body and of Sound & perfect memory, thanks, be therefore rendred to Almighty God, Considering the uncertainty of Time and the Certainty of Mortality, doe (in the fear of God) make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament (That is to say) principally and first of all, I recommend my Soul into the hands of God, who gave it, & my Body, I recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent manner at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter Named, And as touching Such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life after my Debts are paid & Discharged I give, Devize & Dispose of the same, in manner, and forme following (vizt) Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Loveing Son John Hooper All that my Lease hold Estate of my Grounds Scituate lying & being in the PARish of Hamworthy, alias Southham, in the County of Dorset, together with all & Singular the Appurtenances to the same belonging, or appertaining, Item I give & bequeath unto my loveing Grand Children (vizt) amongest all the Children of my said son, John Hooper, the Sum of One Hundred pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine, to be Equally divided between & paid unto them & the Survivors, or Survivor of them when they shall attaine to be of Competent age (according to Law) to receive the same, Item I give and Bequeath unto my Loveing Grand Children (vizt) amongest all the Children of my son Williams Hooper, the sum of One Hundred pounds, of like lawfull money, to be Equally divided between and paid unto them, and the Survivors, or Survivor of them, when they shall attain to be of Competent age, as aforesaid, And if it should so fall out, and happen yt All of my said GrandChildren (vizt) all the Children of my said son John Hooper, should dye before they cometo be of Competent age to receive the same as aforesaid, soe that there is noe perticular Child left Surviveing, soe as to Enjoy the said Sum of One Hundred pounds, herein before bequeathed, Then & in such Case, my Will is that the said Sum of One hundred pounds may redound & be given unto my aforesaid GrandChildren (That is to say) the Children of my said son Williams Hooper, to be equally divided between them and paid unto the Survivors or Survivor of them, when they shall bee of Competent age to receive the same (according to Law) as aforesaid And if it should soe happen that all of my said Grandchildren (vizt) all the Children of my said son Williams Hooper should dye, before they come to be of Competent age, to receive the same as aforesaid soe that there is noe perticular Child left Surviveing, soe as to enjoy the said Sum of One Hundred pounds, herein before to them bequeathed, Then my will is that the said Sum of One Hundred pounds, may Redound and be given unto my aforesaid Grand Children (That is to say) the Children of my said son John Hooper, to be equally divided between them, and paid unto the Survivors, or Survivor of them, when they shall attaine to be of Competent age, to receive the same as aforesaid Item Moreover I give devize and bequeath, unto my Eldest Granddaughter, Mary Hooper, the Daughter of my said son Williams Hooper, to her for her Life & after her decease to her Legitimate heirs forever all That my Messuage or Tenemt Lands prmisses & appurtenances to the same belonging Scituate in the Market Street in the Towne & County of Poole aforesd now in the Tenure of Occupacon of Robert Bushell Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing DAughter Mary Hooper, the sum of One hundred pounds, Lawfull money of Great Brittaine Item I give, devize & bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary Hooper, for & dureing ye terme of her Natural life & after her decease to her heires forever all that my Messuage or Tenemt Scituate in or near the Market STreet in the Towne & County aforesd now in the Tenure or Occupacon of Agnes Smith, together with all & Singular the Lands prmisses & Appurtenances to the same belonging, Item my Will is that my loveing Mother Philipin Hooper be maintained & kept, dureing the Terme of her Natural life, with, what I leave behind me, & out of my Estate & provided for, on all accounts, as she hath been in my life time, Item my Will is that if my eState should exceed what I have herein bequeathed, Than I give & bequeath the one halfe thereof unto my said Daughter Mary Hooper, & the other half thereof to be disposed of by her unto such of my Children or GrandChildren, as she shall find to have the greatest needs of the same And in Case my said Estate should not amount unto soe much as I have herein given & bequeathed, then my Will is that there might be a proportionable abatemt out of each & every perticular & respective Donation accordingly, Item I do Nominate, Ordaine, make & appoint my said Daughter Mary Hooper to be my whole & sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, Item I doe desire, Elect, and appoint my loveing Kinsmen (vizt) Thomas Wadham and Timothy Spurrier, of Poole aforesd to be my Friends in Trust, and Overseers, to see, that this my Will be dly, and truly performed, allowing them their Reasonable expences, that they may be at in the performance and accomplishing of their trust, And alsoe for their care therein, and as a token of my love, I give and bequeath unto each of them one Guinea, And I doe hereby Revoke, disannull & make utterly void all other Wills by me made, Ratifying & Confirming this & noe other to stand & be taken as my last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the One & Twentieth day of the Month called April Annoq Doni 1714 Wm Hooper Signed Sealed Published pronounced & Declared by the sd Wm Hooper as his last Will & Testamt in the psence of us
