March 25 1680 In the name of God Amen I William Grist in Redrise in the County of Surrey Marriner being in sound and perfect memory praised be to God for the same doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say First and princi- pally I resigne my soule into the mercifull hands of Allmighty God my Creator assuredly hoping through the merits of my blessed saviour to obtaine remission of all my sinns and my body I comit to the earth whence it was taken to be decently buryed by the discretion of my Executrix herein after named And as for the worldly goods and estate the Lord hath lent me I dispose hereof as followes Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susanna Grist all those my Lands and Tenements at Sohoe which is five Houses part in Compton Street and other part in Frith Street and my two first Houses from the corner in Ealnant Lane in Redrisse And all my goods or furniture which is now in my dining roome and all that now is in my best chamber with halfe of all my Linnen and plate whereof there is an Inventory all the above shee my daughter is to have for her use imediately after my buryall Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne William Grist my other House in eule?ant Lane wherein Mr Gresingham now lives and all my parts which I now have in shipping and all the other part of my Goods which are not herein menconed I leave to my wife during the time shee remaines a widow and after to come all to my sonne and daughter equall divided And if it shall please God that either my sonne and daughter should dye then the surviving person to have it all but if both dies without issue then to be divided between my owne relacons at Pool and my Brother John Grist and his daughter Katherine and they to have this estate within menconed or to allow my Mother six pounds PER Anno or yearly during ??? live and to give my sisters five pounds each of them and all my Cozens seaven shillings apeice at Poole and my Cozen Clap and Cozen Momford each of them a gold Ring and my Uncle Shere one And my Mother five pounds sent her downe to buy her mourning and five pounds apeice to my very good Friends Mr Thomas Mason and Mr Mathew Grover whom I doe make my Executors of this my last will and Testament revokeing all other Wills by me heretofore made In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Fifteenth day of Aprill One thousand six hundred eighty William Grist Signed sealed in the presence of Witnesse William Fram- ingham Wm Salmon Mates Jno Kingsford Chyr What Goods I have in the House Sheets seaventeen pair forty five napkins large Lookinglasse seaven- Pillowvers Twenty Pictures Twenty four chaires thirty two Talles seaven towells Twenty eight meskof Drawers four Cabinetts two Tablecloathes ???teen Barows six Mabasker Pictures Twenty five beds with all??? furniture five flower potts Tenne fruit dishes fourteen Cu???ons seaven paire of grates ????? five paire three large square white ????
