This is the last Will
and Testament of me Young Green of the Town and
County of Poole Merchant for the settling and disposing
of all my Wordly Estate in manner and form following
that is to say First I desire to be decently interred at the
discretion of my dear Wife Mary if living at my
decease but in Case I should survive her then at the
discretion of my Executors herein after named and that
all my Just Debts together with my Funeral Expences
and decent Mourning for my said Wife and Children
may as soon after my decease as conveniently can be
fully paid and discharged by my Executors and Trustees
hereafter named Also I give and bequeath unto my
said Wife Mary all and singular my Household Good and
Furniture whatsoever Plate Watches Rings Linnen
Wearing Apparel Printed Books and China with my Wines
and other Liquors Coals and other Fuel and Provisions in
and about my Dwelling House in Poole aforesaid in the
way of Housekeeping at my death to and for her own
proper Use Benefit and disposal Also I give and bequeath
unto my said Wife the Sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid
her for Housekeeping by my Executors herein after named
within one Month next after my death Also I give
to my Executors and Trustees herein after named the Sum
of Ten Pounds apiece for Mourning Also I give and
devise unto my said Wife Mary all and singular my
Freehold Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments Premises
and Appurtenances situate lying and being in the said
Town and County of Poole and all other my Real Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever To Hold to my said Wife
Mary and her Assigns for and during the Term of her
natural Life if she shall so long continue my Widow
and not Marry again for and towards the Maintenance of
herself and all and every my Children by her and from
and immedately after her decease or second Marriage
which shall first happen As for and concerning all that
my Messuage Tenement or dwelling House with the
Outhouses Storehouses Gardens Hereditaments Premises and
Appurtenances thereunto adjoining and belonging situate
in or near High Street in Poole aforesaid and now in
my own Occupation and also all that my Storehouse
or Warehouse lately built at the lower end of the said
Garden with the Lofts over the same adjoining to Leglane
Street in Poole aforesaid and now in the Tenure of Joseph
Neave the Younger as Tenant thereof I give and devise
the same and every part thereof unto my Son Young Green
and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever And as for and
concerning All that my Storehouse with the Lofts over the
same Lands Hereditaments and Premises thereunto adjoining
and belonging situate in or near Market Street in Poole
aforesaid now in my own Occupation and of the said

Joseph Neave and also all that my Newbuilt Storehouse
and Cellars with the Lofts over the same Lands Hereditaments
and Premises thereunto also adjoining and belonging situate
lying and being in or near the New Quay in Poole aforesaid
now in the Tenure of Joseph Neave the Elder and John
Spurrier as Tenants thereof I give and devise the same and
every part thereof unto my Son Thomas Green and to his
Heirs and Assigns for ever And as for and concerning All that
my Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House with all the Outhouses
Garden Hereditaments Premises and Appurtenances thereunto
adjoining and belonging situate in or near West Street in Poole
aforesaid and now in the Occupation of The Revd Mr Ashburner
as Tenant thereof I give and devise the same and every part
thereof unto my Daughter Susanna Green and to her Heirs
and Assigns for ever And as for and concerning one full
and equal undivided Moiety or half part of and in all
those Messuages or Tenements Lands Plantations Hereditaments
Premises and Appurtenances which were late of and belonging
to my late Father and Mother Young Green and Susanna
Green deceased or either of them situate in NewfoundLand
in North America I give and devise the same and every
part thereof unto my two Sons Young Green and Thomas
Green and to their several and respective Heirs and Assigns
for ever as Tenants in Common
And it is my Will and earnest desire that she my said
Wife do and shall by her last Will and Testament give
and devise unto my Daughter Maria Green and to her
Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Messuage Tenement
or Dwelling House with the Outhouses Garden Hereditaments
Premises and Appurtenances thereunto adjoining and belonging
situate lying and being in Fish Street in Poole aforesaid
now in the Tenure of William Lander the Younger as Tenant
thereof and which were lately given and devised her my
said Wife and her Heirs for ever by her Aunt Mary
Spurrier Spinster lately deceased Also I give and bequeath
unto my Brother in Law Thomas Durell of Poole
aforesaid Esquire and George Kemp of the same Place
Shopkeeper All that my Leasehold Estate and Estates (part
whereof is now used as a Rope Walk) situate at or near
Town Gates in Poole aforesaid now in my own Occupation
and of John Hind Gardiner as Tenant thereof To Hold the
same unto the said Thomas Durell and George Kemp
their Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during
all my Term or Terms of Years Estate and Interest therein
Upon Trust Nevertheless that they the said Thomas Durell
and George Kemp and the Survivor of them his Executors
and Administrators do and shall permit and suffer my
said Wife Mary and her Assigns To Have hold and enjoy
the same and receive the Rents Issues and Profits thereof
for and during so many Years of the said Term or Terms
unexpired as she my said Wife shall happen to live if she
shall so long continue my Widow and not Marry again



without rendering any Account or being therefore in any
wise accountable for the same for the further Maintenance
of herself and my Children by her and from and immediately
after her decease or second Marriage which shall first
happen Then In Trust for my said Son Young Green his
Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during the
then residue of my Term or Terms of Years Estate and
Interest therein Also all the rest and residue of my Goods
Chattels Rights Credits Shipping Stock in Trade Monies
Securities for Money and all other my Personal Estate and
Effects whatsoever and wheresoever (not herein before otherwise
given and disposed of) I give and bequeath unto the said
Thomas Durell and George Kemp (whom I do hreby
make constitute and appoint joint and sole Executors of
this my last Will and Testament) and to their Executors
and Administrators Upon the Trusts and for the Purposes
herein after mentioned (that is to say) In Trust as
soon as may be after my decease (by and with the
consent of her my said Wife if then living and
Unmarried but not otherwise) to sell and dispose thereof
and convert the same into ready Money and get in
and receive all such just Debts as I shall owe at the
time of my decease together with my Funeral Expences
Mourning for my said Wife and Children and Legacies
herein before given and to call in and receive alter or
change any Security or Securities whatsoever wherein
my Personal Estate or any part thereof may at my
decease or at any time after be vested or laid out
at Interest and when and as often as one hundred Pounds shall be
got in and received (my Debts Funeral Expences
Mourning for my said Wife and Children Legacies
and all Costs and Charges in executing or defending of
the several Trusts herein mentioned or any or either of
them being first paid) to lay out the same at Interest in
their Names on Real or Government Securities And
Upon this further Trust that they my said Trustees and
Executors and the Survivor of them his Executors and
Administrators do and shall pay all the Interest Income and
Produce of my said Residuary Personal Estate and of
every part thereof unto my said Wife for the further and
better Maintenance of herself and my    Children by
her for and during her natural Life if she shall so
long continue my Widow and not Marry again but if
she my said Wife shall Marry again Then upon this
further Trust and my Mind and Will is that they my said
Trustees and Executors and the Survivor of them his Executors
and Administrators do and shall within six Months
next after such her second Marriage pay unto her my
said Wife the Sum of one thousand pounds of lawful British
Money part of my said Residuary Personal Estate for her
own proper Use Benefit and disposal and that from the
time of such her second Marriage or death which shall

first happen Upon this further Trust that they my said Trustees
and Executors and the Survivor of them his Executors and
Administrators shall pay and apply all the Interest Income and
Produce of my said Residuary Personal Estate and of every
part thereof (Subject Nevertheless to the Payment of the said
Sum of one thousand Pounds to her my said Wife in Case
only of such her second Marriage as aforesaid and not
otherwise for the Benefit and Advantage of my said two
Sons Yound and Thomas and my said two Daughters Maria
and Susanna and all and every other such other my Child and Children
lawfully begotten or to be begotten as shall be living at
the time of or born in due time after my death share
and share alike until they shall severally attain their respective
Ages of twenty one Years in such manner as they my said
Trustees shall think fit I entirely trusting to their discretion
therein and when my said two Sons Yound and Thomas and
my said two Daughters Maria and Susanna and all and
every such other my said Child and Children shall respectively
have attained their several Ages of twenty one Years then
my said Trustees shall (Subject as aforesaid) pay the Sum
of one thousand and five hundred Pounds apiece (part of the
said Principal Money) unto each of my said two Sons Young
Green and Thomas Green and the Sum of one thousand Pounds
apiece (other part thereof) unto each of my said two
Daughters Susanna and Maria and all and every such other
my said Child and Children and shall (Subject as aforesaid)
pay all the rest and residue thereof unto and amongst
my said two Sons and two Daughters and all and every
such other my said Child and Children in equal shares
Dividends and Proportions And in Case any or either of
them my said two Sons and two Daughters or such other
my said Child or Children shall happen to depart this
Life under the Age of twenty one Years then and in such
Case his her or their Shares Dividends and Proportions
thereof and every part thereof shall go and be paid
unto the Survivors and Survivor of them equally at
the time aforesaid Provided always and my further Will
and meaning is and I do hereby declare that it shall
and may be lawful to and for them my said Trustees
and Executors respectively out of my said Real and
Personal Estate to reimburse and repay themselves all
such Costs Charges and Expences as they or either of
them shall or may suffer sustain expend or be put unto
in or about the Management or Execution of any of
the Trusts hereby in them reposed or any thing relating
thereunto and that they my said Trustees and Executors shall
not be answerable the one of them for the other of
them but each of them for himself only and for his
own Acts Receipts and defaults only nor shall they or
either of them be charged with or accountable for any
Loss or Losses which shall or may happen to my said
Residuary Personal Estate or any part thereof by investing



laying out applying or disposing of the same or any
part thereof or the produce thereof or any part thereof
according to the true intent and meaning of this my Will
nor with or for any involuntary Loss or Losses which
shall or may happen to the said Trust Premises or any
part thereof by any ways or means whatsoever Provided
Nevertheless such Loss or Losses be not accoasioned by or
through their or either of their willfull neglect or default
And further that they or either of them shall not be
chargeable with or responsible for any more Monies
than what they respectively shall actually receive by
virtue of this my last Will Notwithstanding they may respectively
for Conformaty have signed any Receipt or Acquittance
for the same And Lasly I do hereby revoke all former and
other Wills by me heretofore made and do declare this
alone to be my true last Will and Testament In Witness
whereof I the said Young Green the Testator have to this
my last Will and Testament consisting of Four Sheets of
Paper set my Hand and Seal at the bottom of every
Sheet this fourth day of May in the Year of Our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and eighty four  Young Green
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Young Green
the Testator in the presence of Us who subscribed Our Names
as Witnesses hereunto in his presence and at his request
and in the presence of each other part of the Word
Furniture in the eighth Line of the First Sheet and the
Words "all and every such other my" in the last Line but
one of the third Sheet being first wrote on rasures and
the obliteration between the words "Child and" in the first
Line of the last Sheet being first severally made  Christr

This Will was proved at London the twentieth
day of February in the Year of Our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty eight before the Right Worshipful
Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary
of the Prerogative Corut of Canterbury lawfully constituted
by the Oaths of Thomas Durell and George Kemp the
Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration
was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and
Credits of the deceased having been first sworn by Commission
duly to administer
