In the name of god Amen the sixt Daye of October in the yeare of our Lord God One thowsand five hundred Ninetie two and in the fouer and thirteeth yeare of the raigne of our Sovraigne Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of god of England Frannce and Irelande Queene defendres of the faith &c I Thomas Gleson of the citie of Bristoll marchant beinge thankes be to god in god and perfect remembrance have made this my last Will and Testament as followeth Firste I commit and bequeath my soule and bodie in to the handes of Almightie God sted- fastlie beleeveinge with a ???ely faithe to be saved thorough the merits of our onely Savior and Rredeemer Jesus Christe Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Israell Gleson in token of forgettinge and forgiveinge all unkindnes to me by him shewed one Goblet of sylver parcell guilt Item I give unto my most welbeloved and naturall sister Marie Ellis one ale cuppe of sylver perell gilte Item I give unto my saide sister Marie my downe bedde wth his bolster wch is in her owne howse and also my quarter parte of the hows- holde stuff at Bathford Item I give unto my cosen Phillippe Ellis my taffeter of sylver Item I give unto my cosen Marie Ellis one paire of ??? sheetes Item I give unto my coson Emmanuell Ashe all my apparrell and three poundes in money I give unto my moste faithefull and welbeloved brother William Gleson my parte of the garden and orchyarde in horstreate with the howses stable and els whatsoever thereunto belongeinge with the Evidences and writinges thereunto appertaininge Alsoe I give and bequeathe unto him the saide William my dwellinge howse with all the ymplements thereunto belongeinge with a voide peece of grownde lyinge in halliardes Lane whollie and fullie as it is specified in a conveyance made to me of yt by my father with all the evidences thereunto likewise belongeinge More I give unto the saide William all my righte title and interest in Bathford the howsholde stuffe onelie excepted More I give unto the said William Three score poundes in money for the which my brother in lawe Mr William Ellis is bounde unto me in a bonde of one hundred markes to paie it me or my assignes one yeare after my fathers decease which bond my father hath in his keepinge Likewise I give unto him all my right title and Interest in Tisburie with the Evidences thereunto belonginge Item I give unto Roberte Browne almesman and his wife one free segonne a peece and sixe shil- linges in monie a peece to buy them hose and shoes All the rest of my goodes not given nor bequeathed I give unto my saide welbeloved brother William Gleson whome I doe make constitute and ordaine to be my full and whole Executor of this my last will and Testament Provided alwaies that my welbeloved father Walter Gleson shall enioy and possesse all the aforesaid goodes howsholde stuffe plate with the bowles buildinges orcharde and garden or anie thinge els whatsoever above specified in this my saide last Will and Testament dureinge his naturall life and after his decease to be distributed and delivered by my said Executor as it is above mentioned In witnes whereof I have written this with mine owne hand and have hereunto put my hande and seale yeave the daie and yeare above written Subscribed sealed achknoweledged and delivered by Mr Thomas Gleson to be his last will and Testament the eight daie of October One thowsand five hundred Ninetie two in the presence of us underwritten Jo: Davis No Pub Will Gleson Richard Billinge Manuell Ashe John Arderne Tho: Horrolles marke By me Thomas Gleson Probatum fuit Testamentum [... this paragraph continues in Latin to grant probate at London on 19 March 1596] Decimo nono die mensis Marchii Anno Domini ...
