In the Name of God Amen
I Henry Gleson the Elder of the City of Bristoll Gent being in good
health of body and of sound memory blessed be God doe make & ordeyne
this my last Will and Testament in manner following first & principally
I commend my Soul to God &c Impris I make and ordeyne my Loving
Friends Mr George White the elder and Mr George White the
younger his sonne both of Bristoll Executors in trust of this my last Will &
Testament to each of whom I give two Guinneas as a token of my love Item
I give to my eldest sonne Henry Gleson my House and Garden in Magdalen
Lane Bristoll and my Messuage on the bridge of Bristoll which Mr
John Hollister now holds of me for the residue of my respective Termes therein
with the Leases thereof he paying and pereforming the respective Rents
and Covenants thereby reserved and comprized alsoe I give him one large
silver Salt celler my Silver Bottle my silver headed Bambo my silver
headed Whipp my silver Tobacco box his own picture and twelve pounds
in money for mourning for him and his Wife and to his Wife I give
to broad peeces of Gold as a Token of my Live Item my Will is that 
my Wife shall enjoy her Joynture in the three Kings Inn in St Thomas's
Streete Bristoll and the four other Messuages or Houses there with
their appurtenances during her naturall life and for her better maintenance
and livelyhood I give and devise to her all that my new built Messuage and
other my Houses and Lands now in my Actuall possession scituate in Bussle
ton als Brislington in the County of Somersett To hold to her during her
Widdowhood and noe longer alsoe I give to her all the furniture in her
Chamber one silver Flagon one silver sweet meet dish one Gold chaine
and two dozen of Turky worke Chaires to dispose thereof as shall thinke
fitt But I desire that she will think fitt to give the same by her Will to our
Children or Grandchildren Alsoe I will that she shall have the use of
all other my household stuffe (except the rest of my plate not to her above
given) during her Widdowhood and noe longer Item I give to my Sonne
Walter one Lyon Tankard one lesser Tankard one little Tankard two
Colledge Cupps one large plate one Chafing dish six spoones six salt
sellers all silver one Gold Chaine my Watch my Clock and all my
wearing apparrell to be carefully kept and preserved for him till he is
fitt to use and weare the same saving such of my wearing apparrell as is
fitter to be sold which I will shall be converted into money and kept for his
use Item I give to my Daughter Anne my pair of silver Candlesticks
with the snuffers and snuff pann six spoones one square plate one pepper

Box one Mustard Pott one Bibb all silver her Gold chaine my Silver Whistle &
Chaine sett with Corall and her own picture to be kept and preserved for her till
she is fitt to use the same Item my Will is that the Rents and proffitts of the
four new Messuages or dwelling Houses which I hold of the Feoffees of St
Thomas Church Lands scituate in St Thomas Streete Bristoll at the yearely 
Rent of forty pounds shall be from time to time used and employed to and for the 
better maintenance and educacon of my said Sonne and Daughter Walter &
Anne during their Mothers Widdowhood And from and after her marriage
or decease which shall first happen I will that the Rents and proffitts thereof shall
be used and employed for the maintenance and educacon of my said Sonne
Walter and for putting him Apprentice to some good trade and if he shall
attaine the Age of one and twenty yeares I will that the same shall be assigned
to him for all the Remainder which shall be then to come of my Terme therein but
if he shall dye before that Age I will that the Rents and profitts thereof shall
be used and imployed for the maintenance and good educacon of my said
Daughter untill she shall attain her Age of eighteene yeares And when she
shall attaine to that Age I will that the same shall be assigned to her for all the
remainder which shall be then to come of my Terme therein And if she shall 
alsoe dye I give the remainder which shall be then to come of my Terme therein
to the Daughter and Daughters of my eldest sonne Henry Gleson equally
betweene them Item all the rest and residue of my personall Estate chattells reall
and personall Household stuff moneys rights and creditts I will shall be received
and converted into moneyes by my said Executors and shall by them and in
their names but to and for the uses intents and purposes in and by this my last
Will and Testament lymitted expressed and declared putt forth to Interest &
that the Interest and increase thereof shall be added to the principall Stock
for the augmentacon thereof But if need shall require I will that the said
Interest and increase or soe much thereof as shall suffice thereunto shall be
used and imployed for or towards the maintenance and good educacon of my
said Sonne and Daughter Walter and Anne and for putting my said Sonne
Walter Apprentice to some good trade or to place and mainteyne him at the 
University of Oxford if he shall desire the same And when my said Sonne
Walter shall attaine the Age of one and twenty yeares I will that two third parts
of the said Principall Stock and of the Augmentation thereof shall be paid to him
for his own use and benefitt and that one third part of the said principall Stock and
of the Augmentation thereof shall be paide to my said Daughter Anne at her
said Age of eighteene yeares for her own use and benefitt and her receipt for
the same shall be a Sufficient discharge to my said Executors And if my said
Sonne Walter shall dye before he shall attaine his said Age of one and twenty
yeares I will that the whole shall be paid to my said Daughter Anne when she
shall attaine her said Age of eighteene yeares And if she shall dye before
she shall attaine her said Ages I will that the whole shall be paid to my 
said Sonne Walter when he shall attaine his said Age of one & twenty 
yeares And if my said Sonne and Daughter Walter and Anne shall
both dye bfore their respective Ages above lymitted I give the said princi-
pall stock and the augmentacon thereof if any shall be to the Daughter and
Daughters of my said eldest Sonne Henry equally betweene them Item I
give and devise all those four closes or parcells of ground called Sparks meade and Lott Meade
scituate in Bussleton als Brislington aforesaid imediately after the
Marrige or death of my said Wife which shall first happen to my said
Sonne Walter and the Heires of his Body lawfully begotten and for want
of such Heires I give and devise the same to my said Daughter Anne and

and their Heires And assignes for ever in joynt tenancy Item I give and devise
All the Lands and Hereditaments which I purchased of Rowland Lacey Esqr
and the Messuage or dwelling House which I built thereupon with th'appurts
scituate in Bussleton als Brislington aforesaid (which Lands were formerly in
the holding of one Thomas Jones) imediately after the Marriage or decease of
my said Wife which shall first happen To my said Daughter Anne and
the Heires of her body lawfully begotten And for want of such Heires I give
and Devise the same to my said Sonne Walter and the Heires of his body
lawfully begotten and for want of such Heires I give and devise the same to the
Daughter and Daughters of my said Sonne Henry her and their Heires Assignes
for ever in joynt Tenancy Item I will that the Rents and proffitts of the premisses
above devised to my said Sonne and Daughter Walter and Anne respectively
shall be received and taken by my Executors untill my said Sonne Walter
shall attaine his age of twenty one yeares and untill my said Daughter shall
attaine here said Age of eighteene yeares And that the same shall be from time
to time putt forth to Interest by my Executors in such manner as is above directed
for the respective uses of my said Sonne and Daughter Walter and Anne and
paid to them respectively when they shall attaine their respective Ages above
menconed or if need shall require to be used and imployed for their respective
maintenance and good educacon as above specifyed And I will that my said
Executors or any of them shall not be charged or chargeable with any casuall Loss
of my Estate or of the Rents and proffitts of the premisses above devised or of the
moneyes which shall be by them put forth to Interest as above directed desiring my
said Executors and every of them to use their best care for the preservacon 
thereof And in the performance of this my Will and their reasonable Costs
charges and expences which they oro any of them shall pay or be at therein or
thereabout I will that they and every of them shall deduct and reteyne to him &
themselves out of my Estate thereby given and devised And lastly I doe revoke
and make voyd all other Wills and Testaments by me formerly made and
declared these PREsents conteyned in these eight sheetes of paper written on one
side only to be my only last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have
to each of the said sheetes sett my hand and Seale this eighth day of September
in the five and thirtieth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles
the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King
