In the Name of God Amen The
Thirteenth day of January in the One and thirtieth yeare of the Reigne of Our Sovraign
Lord King Charles the Second over England &c Annoq Domini One thousand six
hundred seventie nyne I Mary Gaulpin of Litchet Minster in the Countie of Dorset
widdow being sick of bodie but of sound and perfect memorie Thanks be unto God for
the same And knowing the uncertaintie of this life on Earth and being desirous
to settle things in Order doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament
in maner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I comend
my Soul to Almightie God my Creator assuredly believing that I shall
receave full pardon and free remission of my Synns and to be saved by the pretious
death and Merits of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my bodie
to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in such decent and Christian
Buriall and maner as to my Executors discretion hereafter named shall be
thought meet and convenient And as touching such worldly Goods & estates
which the Lord in Mercie hath lent mee my will and meaning is the same shall
be imployed and bestowed as hereafter by this my Will is expressed And that I
doe revoke and make void all Wills and Testaments whatsoever formerly by mee
made either by word or writing and this onely to be taken for my last Will and
Testament as followth Inprimis I give and bequeath unto my Sonn John
Gaulpin All my lands and tenements whatsoever To have and to hold the said Lands
and Tenements imediately after my decease unto him the said John Gaulpin for
and during all the time and Terme of his naturall life and to his Heirs forever
And for want of a lawfull Heire I give and bequeath all my Lands in Litchett
Minster Litchett Matravers and Sturminster Marshall unto my Cousin Edmund
Frampton and to his Heires forever And for want of such issue I give & bequeath 
my aforesaid Lands and Tenements in Litchet Minster Litchet Matraver & Sturminster
Marshall unto my Cousin Edmund Clarke of Durressen and to his Heires forever
Item I give and bequeath all my Goods all my Goods of Houshold stuff Stock of
Cattle Chatells Leases Debts readie money Plate Brass Pewter Bedding and all
other my substance whatsoever to my Sonn John Gaulpin aforesaid Item I give &
bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah the Summe of Three hundred pounds of lawfull
money of England to be payd unto her at the Age of One and twentie yeares or day of
Marriage which shall first happen and the interest of two hundred pounds for her
maintenance and education Also I give unto her my said Daughter Sarah all my
best wearing Apparell for woollen and lynnen I give alsoe unto her my said daughter
Sarah my Stone Ring and a silver Bodkin Item I give unto my mayde servant
Katherine Keat two sutes of my old wearing Apparell And my will is that in case Mr
Savage Minister of Bloxworth by mynded to take the care and trouble of keeping of
my said Sonn John Gaulpin and Sarah my Daughter my desire and will is that hee
shall be well satisfied for keeping them during their Minoritie untill they ????? and able
to goe to Schoole And my will is that my mayd servant Katherine Keat aforesaid

shall have the looking to and tending of them during their Minoritie and to have
Fiftie Shillings by the yeare during the tyme shee takes care of them and her dyet
Item my will is that my said Sonn John Gaulpin shall pay his said Sister Sarah the
Summe of Three hundred pounds by mee before given out of the said Lands & tenements
houshold stuff Stock of Cattle moneys and Goods soe before given unto him according
to my meaning and true intent of this my said will and doe make him my said Sonn
John Gaulpin to be my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament And in case
my said Sonn John Gaulpin ??? happen to dye without issue that then my will is that
my Cousin Edmund Frampton shall pay out of the said Land unto my daughter Sarah
one hundred pounds in three yeares next after hee shall enjoy my lands soe before given
And in case my Cousin Edmund Frampton should happen to dye or decease without
issue that then my will is that my Cousin Edmund Clarke or his heires shall pay the
said Summe of One hundred pounds soe before given and bequeathed unto my said daugh-
ter Sarah in three yeares next after him the said Edmund Clarke or his heires shall
enjoy and possess the said Lands And farther my will is that if my said Sonn John
Gaulpin should happen to dye in his Minoritie That then my said daughter Sarah
to have and enjoy all and singular the said Goods housholdstuff Stock of Cattle Leases
Debts readie money Plate Brass Pewter Bedding and all other my Substance what-
soever which were unto my said Sonn herein before given And in case that if my Sonn
John and my daughter Sarah shall both happen to dye in their Minoritie Then my will is
that my Cousin John Harding of Sturminster Marshall to have twentie pounds and
Elizabeth Biles and Rachell Seymore my kinswomen tenn pounds apeece and unto Edmund
Clarke my kinsman tenn pounds and unto William Savage Five pounds and unto Mary
Savage Five pounds and unto Joan the daughter of William Savage Five pounds
and unto Katherine Keat Five pounds and unto the Poore of the Parish of Litchet
Minster aforesaid Five pounds and unto my Cousin Barbara Gaulpin twentie pounds
and unto Mr Cherry Minister of Combe tenn pounds and unto Nicholas Churchill the
younger my Godsonn Five pounds and unto Joan the wife of John Moors Five pounds
and unto Mary the daughter of Richard Pokewoith Five pounds and unto Barbara
the daughter of Mr Cherry my God-daughter tenn pounds and unto my Godsonn
Mathew Plummer tenn pounds and unto Samuell Chiesman the Sonn of Robert Chiesman
deceased tenn pounds and unto Thomas Deane Five pounds and unto Robert Haames of
Eberton tenn pounds and unto Mrs Margaret Savage the daughter of Mr Savage
Minister of Bloxworth twentie pounds and unto Mellier the daughter of George
Frampton of Stabridge Weston tenn pounds and unto my Cousin William Frampton's
eldest Daughter tenn pounds and unto Ann the wife of John Welsted five pounds and unto
George Savage of Bloxworth tenn pounds unto John the Sonn of William Savage
deceased Five pounds and unto John Savage the Sonn of John Savage deceased five
pounds and unto the Foure Children of Richard Chiesman of Morden each of them
five pounds All these Legacies to be payd by my Overseers and Friends here in Trust
and what doth remaine unto these which I doe desire and appoint to be my Overseers
and Friends in Trust to see this my last Will performed and to manage and make the most
of my Estate to the best advantage of my Children or otherwise the Paying of my legacies
(that is to say) Mr Thomas White of Fiping Okeford Mr Robert Kerlew of Eberton
Mr Samuell Hookey Christopher White and Mr John Turbervile of Home and
I give unto each of them Fifteene Shillings to buy each of them a Ring for
their paines and a Ring unto that Minister which shall preach my Funerall
Sermon In witness whereof I the said Mary Gaulpin have hereunto set my
hand and Seale the day and yeare abovewritten Sig Maria Gaulpin Signed
published and declared to be my last will and Testament in the presenced of
Charles Cherry Katherine Keath her marke Theophilus Skutt
