In the Name of God Amen
This is the last Will and Testament of me Priscilla Edwards
of Margaret Street in the Parish of Saint Mary le Bone
in the County of Middlesex Widow First I desire that ten
day may Intervene my death and Funeral and that the
Coffin whe???????? Bod y shall be Buried may not be ???sed



up During that time or untill it shall become Offensive
and I desire that direct that I may be Buried in the
same private manner my late dear Husband Richard
Edwards Esquire was and in the same Grave with him and
my dear Child Priscilla Ann Marton I give and bequeath
to my said late Husbands Niece and Godchild Theodosia
S???d and to Mrs Mary Fitzwater the Sum of Ten pounds
a piece to Buy Mourning I give and bequeath to my
Servant Elizabeth Allen if she shall live with me at
      my decease all my Cloaths and wearing apparel
Save my Jewels Rings and Watch and the Sum of Fifty
pounds over and besides such wages as shall remain due
to her at my death Item I give and bequeath to the
said Elizabeth Allen one annuity or clear yearly Sum of
Ten pounds for and during the Term of her natural life
to be paid her by my Trustees and Executors herein after
named by even and equal half yearly payments the first
payment thereof to begin and be made at the End of
Six Calendar Months next after my decease Item I give and
bequeath to the said Allen Furniture for a Room which
I have particularly mentioned and set down in a paper signed
by me and intended to be kept with one part of this my
will as a Recanpence for her care of me and it is my
will and mind and I do direct that my said Servant 
Elizabeth Allen shall and may continue in my dwelling
House three Months next after my decease if agreable to
her during which time she shall receive and be paid
wages at and after the same Rate she receives and is
paid the same in my life time and also paid or allowed
reasonable Board Wages I give and bequeath all my
Sheets and Table Linnen and other Linnen now or
usually kept in a chest       now standing in one
of the Garretts of my House in Margaret Street aforesaid
unto Sophia Stert wife of my Brother Arthur Stert and
to my Niece Rebecca Minett to be divided equally between
them I give and bequeath to my Niece Mariana Stert
the Ring with my Daughter Priscilla Martons Hair wrought
into it I give and bequeath to my Eldest Niece Sophia
Stert the Single Stone Diamond Ring late belonging to
my Sister Mrs Lambert deceased I give and bequeath to the
Reverend Doctor John Baker one of my Trustees and Executors
herein after named my said dear husbands Gold Watch
picture and inlaid Sword Given to him by the Duke of Saint
Albans and also my said dear Child Priscilla Ann Marton's
picture and my Mourning Ring for my said daughter
and likewise my late Fathers picture In Trust to keep
the same in his hands untill my GrandSon George
Richard Marton shall attain the age of twenty one
years and then to deliver the same to him for his
own use and in case my said Grand Son shall die
before he shall attain his said age of twenty one then
to deliver the same to his Brother my Eldest Grand



Son Oliver MArton when he shall attain the age of
Twenty one for his use and it is my mind and desire
and therefore I do hereby request my said two Grand
Sons respectively not to dispose of or part with the said
Watch Sword pictures and Rings or any of them
during their respective lives I give and bequeath to my
three Friends John Eames Esquire the Reverend Doctor
John Baker and Richard Buller Esquire and to my
Nephew Daniel Minett Esquire my Trustees and Executors
herein after named the Sum of Five Guineas a piece
for a Ring and after payment of my debts Funeral 
Expences and the said Legacies I give and bequeath
all the Rest Residue and remainder of my real and
personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever
to my said three Firends John Eames Esquire the Reverend
Doctor John Baker and Richard Buller Esquire and to my said
Nephew Daniel Minett their Heirs Executors and admors
upon the Trusts nevertheless herein after mentioned
touching the same that is to say Upon Trust that they
shall with all convenient Speed after my decease Sell and
convert such part thereof as is Saleable into Money and
call in all debts owing to me and place out the
Moneys arising therefrom upon some good and sufficient
Mortgage or Mortgages of Freehold Lands situated in
some Registered County or upon some Government 
Security or Securities at the Discretion of my said Trustees
in their own names there to lye and accumulate until
my said Grand Son George Richard Marton shall
attain his said age of twenty one years and from
and after my said Grandson shall have so attained his
said age of twenty one then upon further Trust to pay
assign or Transfer such Sum or Sums of Money as the
Residue of the said yearly Interest or Dividends shall then
amount to together with the said principal Sum
arising from Sale of my Estate and Effects and from
the Debts Due to me as aforesaid on the Mortgages or
other Securities wherein the same shall then ??? Secured
to my said Grand Son George Richard Marton to and
for his Sole use and benefit But in case my said Grand
Son George Richard Marton

             shall die before he shall attain his
said age of twenty one years then upon Further Trust
to pay the Sum of Five hundred pounds part thereof
to my Niece and God Daughter Sophia Stert and then
to pay assign or Transfer the Residue of the said principal
and accumulated Sums of Money Mortgages and other
Securities to my Eldest              Grand Son Oliver
Marton when he shall attain his age of Twenty one
years to and for his Sole use and benefit but in case
my said Grand Son Oliver Marton shall die in the
life of his Brother the said George Richard Marton



or shall not live to attain the age of twenty one
years then upon this Further Trust that they the said
John Eames John Baker Richard Buller and Daniel
Minett or the Survivor of them his Executors or
administrators shall pay and divide such Residue unto
and amongst all and every the daughters of my said
Brother Arthur Stert who shall then be living if more
than one equally between them share and share alike
and if but one then the whole to such Surviving or
only daughter provided always that in case my said
Trustees or the Survivors or Survivor of them shall in
their or his discretion think it expedient for the benefit
and advantage of my said Grand Son George Richard
Marton to advance and pay him the Sum of one
thousand pounds before he shall attain the age of
Twenty one years then and in that case I do hereby
authorize and empower my said Trustees and the
Survivors and Survivor of them to pay and apply
such Sum of one thousand pounds out of the Residue
of my Estate and Effects given and bequeathed to them
In Trust as aforesaid unto and to the use of my said
Grand Son George Richard ^ Buller and Daniel Minett        ^ Marton accordingly and I do appoint my said Trustees John Eames John Baker Richard
Executors of this my will and hereby revoking all former
wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this
only to be my last will and testament In Witness
whereof I the said Priscilla Edwards have to this my
last will and testament contained in three Sheets of
paper to the first and Second Sheets thereof set my
hand and to the third and last Sheet thereof my
hand and Seal this Seventh day of August in the year
of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy

declared by Priscilla Edwards the Testatrix above named
as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence
of us who at her request and in her presence have
Subscribed our names as witnesses thereto  Thos Rowlison
Thos Bolson  Susannah Perry

I desire the Fine Linnen that is left in my will
to be devided between Mrs Stert and Mrs Minet as it is now
deminished since my Will was made may be entirely
given to Mrs Minet and instead of the share I had
given Mrs Stert I bequeath to her one pair of my Silver Candlesticks
I likewise bequeath to my Niece Sophia Stert my Diamond
Earrings it is my Will that twenty pounds a year shall
be paid to my Maid Servant Elizabeth Allen during her
natural life instead of ten pounds a year Expressed in
my last will and Testament I bequeath also Five
Guineas to each of the other three Servants
         from the Great affection and regard
my dear Mrs Buller has displayed towards me during



my illness I have to request her acceptance of a Mourning
Ring I desire my papers may be delivered by my Servant
Elizabeth Allen to Mrs Rebecca Minett by her only to
be overlooked  September ye 21 1782  Priscilla Edwards

Appeared Personally Paumier
of Titchfield Street Marybone in the County of Middlesex
and made oath that he knew and was well acquainted
with Priscilla Edwards late of the Parish of Sain
Mary le bone in the County of Middlesex Widow for Several
years before and to the time of her death which happened
in the Month of December last that during such his
knowledge of and acquaintance with her he has often
seen her write and Subscribe her name to writings and
was andis thereby become well acquainted with her
manner and character of handwriting and Subscription
and having now carefully viewed and perused the
names Priscilla Edwards subscribed to the
paper writing hereunto annexed purporting to be a Codicil
to the last will and testament of the said deceased
beginning thus "I desire the fine Linnen that is left in
my will to be divided between Mrs Stert and Mrs Minet
" ending thus "I desire my papers may be delivered by my
Servant Elizabeth Allen to Mrs Rebecca Minet by her only
to be overlooked and dated" September ye 21 1782 he saith
that the said Names are as he verily and in his
consicence believes of the proper hand writing and
Subscription of the said Priscilla Edwards deceased Philip
Paumier  The same say the said Philip Paumier was
duly sworn to the Truth of this affidavit Before me  And
Collee Ducarel Surogate present N Biship Jurer

This Will was proved at London with a Codicil the
twenty Seventh day of January in the year of our Lord
one thousand Seven hundred and eight three before the
Worshipful Thomas Bever Doctor of Laws Surrogate of
the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Docotor of Laws Master
Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of the
Reverend John Baker Doctor in Divinity Richard Buller
and Daniel Minet Esquires three of the Executors
named in the said Will to whom administration was
granted and of all and Singular the Goods Chattels
and Credits of the said deceased having been first
Sworn duly to administer power being reserved of
making the like grant to John Eames Esquire the
other Executor named  in the said Will when
