In the name of God Amen
I Henry Dackomb of the Towne of Corfe Castle within the Isle of
Purbecke in the County of Dorsett gent being sicke and weake of body but very well
and perfect in mind and memory for which as for all other his mercies I humbly
returne thanks to God Doe make my last Will and Testament in manner and
Forme Following First I bequeath my soule into the handes of my most mercifull
Redeemer Jesus Christ hopeing through his bitter Death and bloudy passion so
to inheritt with him a Crowne of glory in the Kingdome of heaven which he hath
prepared for all them that with a huely Faith lay hold on his merrits my body I
bequeath to the Dust from whence it came to bee Decently buried in the parish church
of Corfe Castle according to the discrecon of my Executrix hereafter named 
Item I give to the C????? of the Towne of Corfe Castle wherein I now live
Forty shillings It to the poore of the same parish ?????? poundes to bee
distributed amongst them at my buriall and at the discrecon of the Churchwardens
and overseers of the poore for the time being It whereas I ???? heretofore entred
into a bond or bill penall unto Sr Edward Lawrence late of Sutten Grange in
the Isle of Purbecke for settling a certaine Joynture uppon my wife Dorothy which 


Is not yet performed or else to leave her at my decease the sume of six hundred 
poundes in mony as by the said bond or bill more plainely Appeareth And
whereas alsoe my said wife is well contented and pleased rather to receive the
yearely income and proffitts of my lands and estate dureing her life then to bee
troubled with the said sume of six hundred pounds therefore in Leiu of and
for satisfaccon of the said Joynture or some of six hundred poundes I give and 
bequeath unto   Dorothy my said wife dureing her life the proffitts of all my
Landes whatsoever more I give unto her for the terme of her life the proffitts of
one parcell of meadow ground called kine close lying within the Towne of Corfe
Castle aforesaid As alsoe the proffits of one other Meadow called long haies for ye
terme of her life if the estate therein shall soe longe last more I give unto her
all my furniture and household stuffe belonging unto the house I now live in and
Alsoe I give unto her two hundred poundes in money Item unto Edward Dackombe
sonne of Brunne Dackombe gent I give the Land of my house wherein I now live
with the garden thereunto with the stable and a little garden thereunto adioyneing 
and the Land of my two Meadowes lying at Huches after the Decease of Dorothy my
wife Provided alwaies and it is my intent and meaneing That?? the said 
Edward Dackombe Doe pay or cause to be paid unto his two sisters Anne and Mary and to either of them fifty
poundes within one halfe yeare after hee shall come to bee possessed of the said 
Lands but case he faile to make payment of the beforesaid Legacies at the time hereby
prescribed or Limitted then I give unto them the said Anne and Mary the sevrall
parcells of Land before by this my will given and bequeathed Item I give unto my
kinseman James Havelland sonne of James Havelland of W??kswoods the
Lands of one Tenement with the appurtenances thereunto belonging lying
and being in the Towne of Corfe Castell and of late in the possession of ????y
Cotterell with the landes of one parcell of Meadow called great Merryfeild
lying ???????g unto the pound in Corfe Comon after the Decease of Dorothy my
wife Itt I give unto my kinswoman Mary Meaden the Lease and all the proffits
of certaine groundes called Sandyhills lying within the parish of Corfe castell
the which I hould for the terme of her life It I give unto Dorothy my wife the 
Remainder of my estate in a certaine Meadow called kine close lying within 
ye Towne of Corfe Castell It I give unto my kinsweoman Mary the wife of 
Henry Harben of the Towne of Wareham five poundes It I give to my kinsweo-
man Edith the wife of Roger Baker of the Towne of Poole five poundes 
Item I give unto my kinsweoman Anne the wife of Roger Baker of Arne 
five poundes It I give unto my kinsweoman Elinor the wife of John Harding 
of the town of Wareham twenty pounds

kinsman James Havelland five poundes It I give unto Alexander Havelland 
of Dorchester five poundes It I give unto Mary Debine five poundes Item I 
give unto Rebecca Havelland five poundes Item I give unto Bridget the 
wife of Richadr Smith five poundes Item I give unto Jerome Debine five 
poundes Item I give unto the poore of the towne of Corfe Castle the Land 
of one Meadow called little Merefeild after the decease of my wife the 
yearely proffitt of the said Land to bee imployed to the buying of Linnen 
by the Church wardens and collectors for the time being All the residue 
of my goods and Chattells not formerly given and bequeathed I Doe give &
bequeath unto Dorothy my Loveing wife whome I nominate Constitute 
							    and


appointe to bee my full and sole Executrix of This my last Will and 
Testament Lastly I desire my Loveing freindes and kinsmen Robert Cullyford
of K???come Esquire and James Havelland of W??kswood gent to bee the overseers 
of this   my last Will and Testament and to bee aiding and assisting to my
said Executrix in the performance thereof To whome I give Forty shillings a peice 
for their paines to bee taken herein In wittnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand 
and seale the eighteenth Day of June in the yeare of our Lord Christ 1659 Henry
Dackombe Sealed Signed and published to bee the last Will of Henry Dackombe 
after the same had bin read unto him in the prsence of Ja Havelland John True

Item I give unto Mary the wife of Edward Lovell gent the sume of Five pounds

This Will was proved att London before the Right Worpll William Merike 
Doctor of Lawes Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury
Lawfully constituted the Seaventeenth day of July in the yeare of our Lord God
according to the Computatcon of the Church of England one thousand six hundred 
and sixty by the oath of Dorothy Dackombe the Relict of the said deceased and sole
Executrix named in the said Will To whome was graunted Administracon of all
and singuler the goods chattells and Debts of the said Deceased She being First sworne 
by Comon well and truely to Administer the same according to the tenor and 
effect of the said Will
