In the name of god Amen The first daye of the moneth of December in the yere of or
Lord god a Thousand fyve hundreth and fiftie And in the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lorde Edward the Sixte
by the grace of god of Englande Frannce and Ireland kinge defender of the faithe the fourth yere I Rowlande 
Cowper in the parishe of Sainte Marie porte within the Citie of Bristowe Draper of a parfytt mynde and 
memory (thankes be given unto the Lorde whole of bodie make this my testament and last will in manner & forme
folowing First I give and bequeath my soule to Almightie god and my bodie to be buried when it pleaseth god
to call me within the churche of Sainte Marie aforesaid night unto the pew wherein I was used to knele Item
I give and bequeathe unto the parson and Curatt of the said parishe of Saint Marie porte iiii s iiii d Item I 
give and bequeathe unto John Pekes my sonne in Lawe Twentie poundes I said xx l of money whiche I will
shalbe paide unto hym wtn the terme of two yeres after my decease Item I give and bequeathe unto Alice my doughter
wief of the said John Pekes my great gardyne Lying in saynt Phillips PARyshe after the decease of my wief Item 
I give and bequeathe unto the said Alice my standing Cupp gilted after the decease of my wief Item I give &
bequeathe unto my foresaid sonne John Pekes my pewke gowne furred wt foynes Item I give and bequeathe unto my
brother myles a gowne suche as myne Executors shall appoynte Item I give and bequeath to every poor woman
of the parishe wherin I dwell iiii d Item I will that myne Executors shall give at the daye of my buryall to the
poore people Twentie shillings and withn a moneth after twentie shillings more Item I give and bequeathe 
unto my sonne John Robert in Cardife my best skarlet gowne furred with foynes Item I give and bequeathe unto
Julyan my daughter wief of the said John my litle standing Cuppe of silver over gilted after my wifes decease 
Item I give to Elizabeth my brother pers daughter vi s viii d The residue of all my goods moveable & unmoveable 
I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my wief and John Cowper my sonne whom I do make myne Executors of 
this my testament and last will to dispose all thinges therin conteyned and mentioned my debtes paide as they
shall thinke moste best Provided that my landes as well that that I holde in fee simple as also that I holde 
by lease for terme of lief or for yeres (onlye the gardyn that I have given unto my daughter Alice Pekes excepted)
after my wiefs decease to Remayne unto my sonne John Cowper and to his heires forever Item I do constitute
& ordeyne John Robert and John Peakes my sonnes in lawe to be overseers of this my testament and last will
that all things aforenamed in the same be rightlie ministred and disposed as my trust is in them Provided 
agayne alwayes that the foresaid gardyne and standing Cuppe which I have bequeathed to Alice Peakes my
daughter which after the deathe of my wief be remayninge to the said Alice I will they shall remayne after 
the deathe of the said Alice to John Cowper my sonne and to the heires of his bodie lawfullye begotten yeven at 
Bristowe and subscribed wt my hande the daye and yere aforesaid H???????bus Jenken Dee shomaker Nichas
