1586 I Andrewe Cotrell sicke in body but of good and perfect memory thanks unto
almighty god doe make this my last will and testament in manner and fourme followinge 
First I commend my sowle to thands of almighty god my creatour and to Jesus Christe 
my redeemer and to the holie goste my sanctifier and presrvor hopinge in the merites of 
Jhesus Chryste the sonne of god to be redeemed from all my sinns and my bodie which
is the house of my sowle to bee buried according to cristian buriall Item I geve and bequeath 
unto my brother Peter Cotterell six poundes thirteene shillinges foure pence Item I give &
bequeath unto my sister Elinor six poundes thirteene shillinges foure pence Item I geve and 
bequeathe unto my sister Jelian six poundes thirteene shillinges foure pence Item I geve and 
bequeathe unto Margery Cotterell my cozen the daughter to my brother Keneline Cockerell 
in her marriae six pounds thirteen shillinges foure pence Item I give and bequeathe 
unto my brother Keneline Cotterell my best blacke cloake and in money six pounds thirtene 
shillings fource pence Item I give and bequeath to my brother John Cotterell tenne pounds
and all the reste of my wearing apparrell yet unbequeathed Item I give and bequeath
unto the poore of Bristoll at the discretion of my overseer wth twenty gownes in manner
and fourme following that is to say fourtie shillinges to the poore of the parishe of Redcliffe
