In the Name of God Amen I Joan Cock of the Town and County of Poole Widow being weake of Body of sound mind & memory thanks be given therefore unto Almighty God, and calling to mind the Uncertainty of this frail & Mortall life do Make this my Last Will and testament in manner & forme following That is to say first & principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping thro the Merits death and passion of my Dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to have forgiveness of all my Sins & to inherit Eternal Salvacon, My Body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named, & as touching the distribucon of such temporal Estate as God in his Mercy hath been pleased to bestow upon me I dispose of the same in Manner following Impris I will that all my just Debts and funerall Expences be paid & discharged Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Kinsman John Hooper my silver two handed Cup, to his son John Hooper my Little silver Tankard, to his son Moses Hooper my Large silver salt, to his sone David Hooper my two little silver salts & to Joan the wife of Robert Meadon my Large looking Glass, & underquilt of my Bid Item I give and bequeath unto my nece Elizabeth Bayly Moses in the Arke of Bullrushes and Also the sume of five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Durell Bayly my large silver Tankard Item I give and bequeath unto Elianor the wife of John Darbie my silver Pottinger Item I give and bequeath unto Elianor Durell Daughter of my Nephew John Durell my Chest of Drawers And to my Nephew David Durell my Own Picture Item I give and bequeath unto Mary the Wife of John Hooper six leather Chairs, my stove & things belonging and Dressing Box Item I give and bequeath unto Amy the Wife of William Knight six Cane Chairs, my Grates and Couch and squabb Item I give and bequeath unto Joan the Wife of Simon Langford my little folding Table and likewise my uper Quilt on my bed Item I give and bequeath unto the Revd Mr Christopher Derby the sume of five pounds Item I give & bequeath unto the Poor of this Town the sume of five pounds to be distributed by my Exrs and the said Mr Derby All the Rest Residue and remainder of my Goods Chattles and Personal Estate of what kind soever I give Devise and bequeath unto my Nephew Moses Durell my Neece Mary the Wife of John Hooper Anna Jones the Daughter of Anna Jones daughter of My Brother Moses Durell decd Amy Knight the Wife of William Knight and Joan the wife of the sd Simon Langford to be Equally divided between them share and share alike whome I make & Ordain Joint Executors of this my last Will & Testament & I do hereby make void all former wills by me made radifying & confirming this & none other to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this fifteenth day of April Anno Dno 1727 The Marke of Joan Cock Signed Sealed pronounced published & declared by the said Testatrix Joan Cock to be her last Will & Testament in the presence of us who subscribed Our Names in her prsence Eliz Derby Margaret Hall Richd Corpe the marke of Grace Barnes prbat fuit &c PER Moses Durell Marine ux Johis Hooper & Anne Knight ???? ux Simon Langford preservat ?? Anne Jones &c 29 die Mensis May 1727 Be it known unto all men by these prsents that whereas I Joan Cock of the Town and County of Poole Widow have made and declared my Last Will and Testament in Writing bearing date the fifteenth day of this instant April I the said Joan Cock do by this present Codicil or Schedule confirme and Ratify my said Last Will and Testament except what is herein after particularly altered & Excepted that is to say whereas I gave my Own Picture unto my Kinsman David Durell, I do by these presents reverse the same, and give the said Picture unto Mary the Wife of John Hooper, And I do give and bequeath unto Anne Durell the Widow of David Durell ?? London the sume of five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto My good friend Margarett Hall two pair of my sheets now in use and two Pillowties and my Will and meaning is that this Codicil or Schedule be, and be adjusged to be, Part and Parcell of my said Last Will & Testament and that all things herein contained and menconed be faithfully & truly performed and as fully and amply in every respect as if the same was so declared & set down in my said last Will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this Twentieth day of April in the thirteenth year of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britaine France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c Annoq Doni 1727 And I likewise give unto the sd Margarett Hall four Napkins The mark of Joan Cock Signd Sealed published & declared by the said Joan Cock to be part of her last Will & Testament in the prsence of Eliz Derby The marke of Grace Barns Richd Corpe
