In the Name of God Amen the First day of November Anno Dni
1674 And in the Six and Twentyeth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord 
Charles the second by the grace of God King of England Scotland France and
Ireland Defender of the faith &tc I Mary Clavell of the Parish of St Margarett 
Lothbury London Spinster being sick and weake in body but of sound and perfect
mind and memory Praised be God therefore but considering the frailty and
uncerteinty of this life And that nothing is more certeine then death so nothing
more uncerteine then the time of Mans dissolucon doe therefore make and ordeine 
this my present Testament conteyning therein my last Will in manner and forme
following That is to say First and principally I Comend my Soule into the hands 
of God my Creator assuredly and stedfastly beleeving by and through the pretious
meritts and Death of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer to reeive full
and free Pardon of all my Sinnes and life everlasting My Body I Comitt to the 
Earth to be buryed in such decent and Christianlike manner as to my Executors here
after named shall seme meete And as touching that temporall Estate which the Lord 
is much mercy hath bestowed on mee after my debts and reasonable funerall Charges
shall be thereout first paid and deducted by my Executors hereafter named I bequeath 
and dispose the same in manner and forme following That is to say Imprimis I give 
and bequeath unto my loving brother Roger Clavell of Steple
and to his wife the sume of Tenn shillings apeece to buy them Rings to weare in
remembrance of mee Item I give and bequeath unto my loving brother Robert 
Clavell and to his wife the like sume of Tenn shillings a peece to buy them Rings
as a Token of my love Also I give and bequeath unto my sister Ann Clavell the
sume of Tenn Pownds of lawfull money of England as a Token of my Love Item I
give and bequeath unto my sister Martha Clavell the sume of Forty Pownds of
lawfull English money as a loving Remembrance of mee Also I give and bequeath 
unto Doctor Martin who is Minister of the Parish of St Michaell Woodstreete
London The sume of Tenn Pownds to preach a sermon at my Funerall Item I give 
and bequeath unto one Mrs Gerard Widdow whose husband was Minister of
Creed Church the sume of Tenn Pownds Also I give and bequeath unto Mrs
Mary Libanos the Ministers Widdow of Totteridg the sume of Fyfteene Pownds
Item I give and bequeath unto Doctor Lang the sume of Tenn Pownds as a Token
of my Love and to his wife I give Two Rings vizt One Diamond Ring with Thirteene
Diamonds in it and the other is my Amithist with a Diamond of each side of it 
Item I give and bequeath unto Mr Urwin the sume of Tenn shillings to buy him a
Ring And to his wife I give my laced Wisk and falls Item I give and bequeath 
unto the said Mr Urwins Three Children The sume of Tenn Pownds a peece Item
I give and bequeath unto Mrs Mary Glasbrooke my Gold Ring enameled with 
black Item I give and bequeath unto Mr Sanderson and his wife the sume of Tenn
Pownds Item I give and bequeath unto Mr Clarke and his wife the sume of Twenty 
shillings to buy each of them a Ring Item I give and bequeath unto Mrs Elizabeth
Grittith in the Hospitall my looking Glasse Item I give and bequeath unto Mr John
Locker and his wife the sume of Twenty shillings to buy each of them a Ring And the 
sume of Thirty shillings to buy each of theire Children a Ring Also I give and bequeath 
unto Mr John Griffith an Apothecary the sume of Three Pownds Item I give and 
bequeath unto Jacob my brother Robert Clavells man the like sume of Three
Pownds Item I give and bequeath unto Hugh Watts the sume of Forty shillings 
and also the sume of Tenn shillings to buy him a Ring Item I give and bequeath 
unto my Aunt Dowse the sume of Tenn shillings to buy her a Ring Item I give and
bequeath unto Elizabeth Brookes servant to the said Mr Locker the sume of Twenty
shillings and all my Changes Item I give and bequeath unto my said sister Ann
Clavell a black silk Pettycoat and Wastcoat laced and a white tufted holland


Pettycoat and a sky sarcenett Pettycoat and a body Pettycoat and Two white flannell
Pettycoats and a black Tabby Pettycoat and a black Pettycoat with white Lace
and a haire coloured Pettycoat with a printed Lace on it and a yard and  half of 
Lace to make a band and Two Holland Aprons with Two Breadhes and One Quarter
Item I give and bequeath unto the said Mary Libanos Two worstedd Farrenden
Pettycoats Two plaine black stuff Pettycoats Two Cloth coloured Searge Petty-
Coats and a paire of Bodys and Fower paire of stockings and a black silk vest
Item I give and bequeath unto the said Doctor Langs wife Three new Holland Aprons
To the said Mrs Sanderson also Three new Holland Aprons and to her Daughter 
Susan my Chest of Drawers To the said Mrs Mary Glasbrooke my Box of Drawers 
To Mrs Elizabeth and Johanna Locker my Two Bibles Item I give and bequeath unto
Hannah Branson Fower Paire of white Gloves Item I give unto Mr John Griffith
Fyve Yards of Callicoe And the rest and residue of all and singular my Goods Chattels
Housholdstuff Plate ready money Debts Rights Creditts and Estate whatsoever both reall
and personall not hereby before given and bequeathed I give and bequeath the same
unto Mr Walter Clavell I doe hereby name make ordeine and appoint the said Doctor Lang
and Mr Urwin Executors of this my last Will and Testament desiring them and the
survivor of them to see the same and everything herein to be carefully and duely 
performed And I doe hereby revoke disadnull and make void all former Wills Testamts
Legacyes Bequests & Executors by mee before this time declared named willed and
bequeathed And I doe publish this my present Testament to be my very last Will In
witnes whereof I the said Mary Clavell being Testatrix have to this my last Will
and Testament conteyned in Fower sheets of Paper sett my hand to every of the
said sheets and fixed my Seale to the topp of them and to this last sheete Dated the
day and yeare first above written  Mary Clavell Signed sealed published and
delyvered as the Act and Deed and for the last Will and Testament of the said 
Mary Clavell in the presence of Mary Libanns and John Branson Scr
