In the name of the Father and of the sonne and of the hollie goste Amen the
twentithe and eighte daye of September In the yere of our lord god a thousande fyve hundreth
three score and three I James Boddie servannte unto Walter Pikes of the Cittie of Bristow draper 
beinge in perfect minde and goode Remembrace &c I doo make this my last will and testament in 
manner and forme followinge First and principallie I bequethe my soull unto allmightie god &c And 
for the talent that god hathe lent me of temporall gooddes my will is that it be bestowed in manner &
forme as hereafter followeth Item I give unto George Boddie my Brother fiftie poundes Item I 
give unto Avis Southwoodd 
  the wife of John Southwood
in Wells my Sister twentie poundes and to everie of her children 
twentie shillinges a peece beinge fower Children Item I give unto John Boddie my Brother In
Wells twentie shillinges Item I give to the Allmes house in Wells Syxe poundes And to sainte 
Cutberth Churche in Wells thertene shillinges and foure pence Item I give unto the poore 
people twentie poundes the one half of the saide twentie poundes to be given in Wells and the 
other half to be devided to the almes howses and the poore here in Bristowe Item I give unto 
Mawde Pikes the daughter of Walter Pikes my master Twentie poundes to be delivered her at the 
daye of her marriage yf she die before she be married the saide twentie poundes to be whollie to the 
use of her father Walter Pikes Item more I give unto the saide Mawde Pikes my Cawdron mye 
Chaffer my grete Crock and one of my fring pannes whiche she liste to Choose and my littell posatt
Item I give to John Butcher of Wells three poundes Item I give unto my Cosen Northorne in 
Wells Fortie shillinges and to his Children thertene shillinges and fower pence Item more I 
give unto my Sister Avis my three pannes and my other fryinge panne and twoo littell crocks 
a pare of Andirons and three of my best Candelstickes The Reste of my gooddes I give and beqth
