In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Belben of Carbonear 
Planter being Att This Present Sick and Weak in Body butt
of Sound and Perfect Memory Doe Constitute and Appoint 
This my Last Will and Testament Vizt Imprimus I
Recomend my Sowl into ye hands of Almighty god & my
Body to Earth to be Decently Buryed &c Secondly I give 
And Bequeath to my Eldest Son James Belbin ye Sum
of Fiftey pounds to be paid him att ye Age of twenty on
years Item I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Eadeth 
Belben ye Sum of Fiftey pounds to be paid her att ye day
of Marrige or att ye Age of Eighteen years Item I give 
And Bequeath to my Youngest Child ye Sum of Fiftey pounds
if a son to be paid him att ye Age of twenty on years butt
if a Daughter att ye Day of Marrige or att ye Age of 
Eighteen, My will and Request is yt my mony to pay ye
aforesaid Legacies shall be taken outt of ye hands of Mr
Moses Kitcher and to be putt into any suffecient mans
hands or Left in his hands provided he or they will Allow
Interest for ye saim untill my Childring shall Arive to
theyer Ages as above Mentioned And I Alow all other of 
My Esteatte both Reall and parsonall to be maniged 
Att my Dear Wife Edoth Bebins Discretion for ye Bringing upe And 
Edecation of my Childring, I Authorising and Impouring 
and Apointing her to be my Wholl and Sole Executrix of
this my Last Will and Testament And As for whatt goods
And Debts I have in Newfound Land att ye Last of ye year 
to be Received by Mr Thomas Williams or Mr Peter Mirking 
and they to Discharge and pay ye Debts yt I am Owing 
And to Remitt ye Remainder of all my Effects in Bills of Excha-
-ing to my Wif, this my Last will and Testiment 
As Wittnes my hand And seall Carbonear Island Faberuary
