Mathematical Challenge for Junior High School Students
Grades 7, 8 and 9
RULES
Teachers should be prepared to certify that the student is enrolled
in one of grades 7, 8 or 9.
Students should certify that the entries are their own
unaided work (calculators are permitted, but the use of computers is not).
Students should understand exactly what this means.
Students should be encouraged to work on their own time, and at home.
The deadlines for entries, stated on the problem sheets,
are the dates by which the entries must be postmarked.
Late entries cannot be accepted.
Entries by FAX will not be accepted - the transmission of hand
written material does not result in clear copies.
Entries by email will not be accepted.
Up to four prizes will be awarded in each Challenge. Normally they
will be apportioned to four areas of the province:
St. John's and Mount Pearl,
Avalon Peninsula (outside St. John's and Mount Pearl),
East and Central Newfoundland,
Western Newfoundland and Labrador.
The decision of the judging panel is final.
If you have any questions, or need any clarification,

Submissions received without a student form, or without a
student signature, will not be accepted.
