The conference will take place in the School of Mathematical Sciences, at
Queen Mary, University of London. Accommodation will be in the new student village on the Mile End campus. A local map is
here, and a map of the campus is here.
The nearest underground station is Stepney Green, on the District and Hammersmith & City
Lines.
Getting to Stepney Green from central London railway/coach stations:
- From Paddington, St Pancras, King's Cross, Farringdon and Liverpool Street
railway stations, take an eastbound Hammersmith & City line train for Plaistow or Barking (or for Whitechapel, where
you can change to the District Line).
- From Euston, walk out of the front of the station, turn right and walk to Euston Square station, and join the
Hammersmith & City line.
- From Marylebone, turn left out of the station, cross over the first main road, then turn right at the end of
the street, to reach Baker Street station, where you can join the Hammersmith & City line.
- From Victoria (train/coach stations), Blackfriars or Cannon Street, take an eastbound District
Line train for Plaistow, Barking, Dagenham East or Upminster (NOT Mansion House or Tower Hill!).
- From Waterloo, take the Bakerloo Line to Embankment (one stop), then change to the District Line.
- From Charing Cross, following the signs to Embankment underground station, then take the District Line.
- From London Bridge, take a train to Cannon Street or Blackfriars, then take the District Line.
Arriving from London airports:
- From Heathrow Airport, take the Piccadilly Line to Barons Court (there are several places to change, but this
is the easiest!), then change to the District Line.
- From Gatwick Airport, either take a SouthCentral or Gatwick Express train to Victoria, or a Thameslink train
to Blackfriars, then take the District Line.
- From Stansted Airport, take the Stansted Express train service to Liverpool Street, then the Hammersmith &
City Line.
- From Luton Airport, take the connecting bus to Luton Airport Parkway station, then a Thameslink train to
Farringdon, and join the Hammersmith & City Line.
- From London City Airport, take a number 69 bus to Canning Town, then the eastbound Jubilee Line to West Ham,
and change to a westbound District or Hammersmith & City Line train.
Upon arrival at Stepney Green, turn left out of the exit and walk for approximately 400 metres. The Mathematics
building is the first 'academic' building you will come to; it looks something like this.
If you were contemplating driving to the conference, then my advice is
DON'T! Parking on campus is extremely limited.
