Welcome to DD25 - July 23-27, 2018

Memorial University of Newfoundland is pleased to host the 25th International Domain Decomposition Conference, DD XXV, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, July 23-27, 2018.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss recent developments in various aspects of domain decomposition methods bringing together mathematicians, computational scientists, and engineers who are working on numerical analysis, scientific computing, and computational science with industrial applications.

  • The day before the official beginning of DD25, on Sunday July 22, 2018, the Tely 10 (16km) road race will held! Maybe you want to come a day or two early and take part in the 91st running of this historic race!
  • It is recommended to use eduroam for your wireless connection during DD25. Please test your eduroam connection at your home institution before you leave for St. John's. Some general information about Eduroam can be found here.
  • Early registration will end April30, 2018, after which registration fees will increase by $75 in each category

  • The conference will end by 1pm on Friday July 27th, so plan travel accordingly.
  • Some travellers to Canada may need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization, this can be done in a few minutes online and costs only $7, please see here for more details
  • New information about the banquet for DD25, to be held during the evening of July 26, 2018, is posted here . All registered participants receive one banquet ticket with their registration. A link is provided to purchase additional banquet tickets for family and guests at $87 CAND plus taxes.
  • New information about the bus tour excursion for DD25, to be held during the evening of July 26, 2018, is posted here . All participants and their guests must purchase tickets for the bus tour through the link on that page, the price is $60 CAND plus taxes.

  • The registration system for the meeting is now open, participants can register at this url . Registration fees will increase after this date. Abstract and title submission will follow.
  • Time to book travel and register for the meeting! An opening reception will be held Sunday evening July 22, 2018, so arriving Sunday afternoon would work well.

  • Need an invite letter? Send an email with to dd25@mun.ca with the required details - your complete name, affiliation, address, whether you plan to organize a MS, give a talk or just wish to come to the meeting.

  • (NEW) Some preliminary travel information has been posted
  • If you are thinking about coming a few days before or after the meeting for a holiday and will need a rental car, it is not too soon to book! Rental cars are quite limited in these parts due to the relatively short tourist season. Read the cancellation policy carefully and go ahead and book now if you think you will need one. Newfoundland is a big, big island, so a vehicle will be necessary to see much of anything outside of the downtown and university areas.
