Announcements:

September 22, 2003---
As the conference approaches, we have received some inquiries, for which others may also have interest/concerns, and thus we would like to give the answers to you all.
  1. Some people asked us if the tour to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is still going to be organized in such a winter time. After counsulting with some local travel agents, we feel that December is not a good time for traveling to an mountain area. Therefore, we decide that the tour will NOT be organized. Those interested in this national park are always welcome to visit Hunan University again in a summer time, and Dr. L. H. Huang and his colleagues would very happy to help you arrange such a tour at a minimal cost.
  2. Some of you received hard copies of an invitation letter to this conference for the initially scheduled dates (July 12-16) for the purposes of visa and travel fund applications. If you need an updated copy of such an letter, please let us know by sending an email
to Dr. Dai bxdai@hnu.net.cn (with a cc to xzou@math.mun.ca)
    including your mailing address.
  3. Finally, we would like to kindly remind you of the deadline for preregistration (crucial for reserving hotel rooms), and sending your abstracts. For the procedure of pre-registration, visit the website www.math.mun.ca/~xzou/Huda03/main.html and click "Registration".

July 8, 2003---
The SARS crisis is over. After consulting with Shui-Nee, the organizing committee has decided that the conference will be held on December 17-20, 2003. Accordingly, the new deadline for receiving the preregistration and abstract is set to October 31, 2003, with the ways of sending preregistration and abstract remaining the same as announced on March 23. When you download the old registration form, don't mind the old dates of July 12-16 on the form.
April 14--- In view of the current concerns regarding SARS and in response to a few enquires, the Organizing Committee has decided that the international conference "New Directions In Dynamics of Evolution Equations" shall be postponed until further notice.

We do understand and apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to you, but we do believe this is the only responsible way we should take to pretect our friends and colleagues and their students.

We have informed Professor Shui-Nee Chow of our decision, and he has kindly agreed that this is an appropriate measure. We believe the current situation will be improved soon and significantly, but given the fact that many of us have to decide on the purchase of air tickets for international flights very soon, we think it is appropriate to make a decision at this stage.
