Course Evaluation:

  1. Data analysis project: 40%.

You will be required to analyze a dataset, which will either be provided to you or one that you have chosen. If you want to choose your own dataset to study, please discuss your choice with me first.

Your analysis will be written up in a report, just a statistical consultant would be required to do. Therefore, you will need to write a report that would be accessible to your client, who may not be very familiar with statistical terminology.

This project will be due on Monday, December 9.

  2. Data analysis presentation: 20%.

You will give a class presentation on our data analysis project. Once again, you will want to assume that your audience will not be made up entirely of statisticians. We will hold these presentations on Wednesday, December 4.

  3. Assignments and other term work: 40%.

There will be some shorter assignments given during the term. These may include giving a summary of a consulting paper, leading the class in a discussion of a particular consulting topic, discussing some of the limitations (if any) of methodologies that are used in some of the papers that we studying, and so on.

As you can see, there will be no tests or exam given in this course.
