ED6639 Technology and the teaching and learning of mathematics.

Winter 2008 with Margo Kondratieva.

Welcome to Ed 6639!

Please note that our first meeting will take place on Tue January 15th 2008.

The class of January 8th will be rescheduled during our first meeting. At the same time I would like you to start thinking about some questions we may discuss as a group on January 15th.  The questions are as follows:

  1. What kinds of technology you are already familiar with, and what kinds would you like to study in greater depth?  (You do not have to be familiar with any!)

  1. What grade level is preferable for you?

  1. What mathematical topics are of your particular interest?

  1. List up to ten reasons in favor of using technology in your classroom (either based on your real experience or just hypothetical ideas).

  1.  List up to ten reasons against using technology in your classroom (either based on your real experience or just hypothetical ideas).

6.  What are your learning goals in this course?

Please email me mkondra@math.mun.ca if you need a clarification on any of these.

You are invited to email me your answers before January 15 or just have them ready for the class discussion.
