Generation #6

Name: Samuel Thurston Pike
Birth: November 9, 1798 Cornish, York, Maine
Marriage: January 4, 1826
Death: April 4, 1875 Boothbay, Maine, buried at Hiram Village Cemetery
Spouse/Partner: Mary "Polly" Jewett
Birth: July 28, 1799 Cornish, York, Maine
Death: October 28, 1864 Hiram, Oxford, Maine, buried at Hiram Village Cemetery
Remarks: Samuel Pike was a deacon and had only one son and one daughter. A map of Hiram in 1858 shows an "S Pike". This may have been where Samuel lived. A transcription of those buried at Hiram Village Cemetery says, "Samuel Pike settled on the hillside west of East Hiram Village. Here was born and reared Rev. Ezra B. Pike, later of Exeter, NH, who for more than 60 years upheld the banner and principles of Christianity."
I don't have photos of the tombstones or any other verification of the burial of Samuel T. Pike and his family at Hiram Village Cemetery or a copy of the 1858 Hiram map. I would appreciate help in obtaining either of these.

He was a minister in Maine in the towns of Stow, Chatham, Sweden, Brownfield, Boothbay, and Hiram. In New Hampshire, he was a minister at Northwood, Atkinson, and Brentwood. He was also a minister in West Newbury, Massachusetts and in Connecticut at Morris and Abington.

Generation #4

Name: Ernest Reginald Pike
Birth: February 24, 1872 Stow, Oxford, Maine
Marriage: 1898 - 1900
Death: December 18, 1955 Silver Springs, Maryland, buried at North Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut
Spouse/Partner: Harriet May Granniss
Birth: July 1873 Connecticut
Death: August 13, 1951 East Woodstock, Windham, Connecticut, buried at North Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut
Remarks: Ernest R Pike graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1898. He and May Granniss were missionaries in Alaska for a few years before moving back and eventually settling in East Woodstock, Connecticut where Ernest was a country physician making house calls using a horse and carriage. There is a Dr. Pike Road in East Woodstock named after him. May Granniss was an orphan in the New Haven Orphanage. Her name may have been originally spelled Grannis and it seems the orphanage may have recorded it incorrectly.
