The 1921 Census of Newfoundland incorrectly lists John as "James" Pike, aged 80, born in July 1841 at Bay L'Argent. John is living at Bay L'Argent in the same home as his son William. The Nfld civil registration records for John's death state that he died at age 88, and was born at Bay L'Argent.
